Jagged Alliance 2 Stracciatella
What does "Stracciatella" mean?
The name of this project is an allusion to calling an un-modded version of a game the "vanilla" version. The goal of this project is to make the late 1990's-game Jagged Alliance 2 available on a wide range of platforms, improve its stability, fix bugs and provide a stable platform for mod development. All these additions combined make the final product still look sort of like vanilla with having some improvements added as pieces of chocolate.
JA2 Stracciatella is the only project for JA2 which truly fulfills the role of a fan-patch or "unofficial patch" since the project does NOT focus on adding new features to the game and thus changing it's gameplay, but on improving, fixing and modernizing the game.

Hello,
i don´t know if this is the right place to ask, but Avast detected FileRepMalware in Uninstall.exe in installed Jagged Alliance 2 Stracciatella Release 0.19.1
Is this the real threat or false alarm?

I can't seem to get this to run. I've followed the installation instructions and have tried both with the .exe installer and the .zip. I keep getting this error right after launching, then it CTDs.
[ERROR] launcher\Launcher.cc: Command_execute "D:\\Games\\Jagged Alliance 2\\JA2 Stracciatella\\ja2.exe" []: exited with status code -1073741819
I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, installing elsewhere, installing within the game directory (replacing the "vanilla" ja2.exe) I have no idea what I've done wrong or how to fix it.
sorry but i cant install the mod on my game...
done everything u wrote in the readme.txt and also on the other pages of yours....

fixed it by myself.
just copie the text from the -eng.json and put it in the -ger.json data.
btw i installt the nightlies 0.17.0 version because the 0.16.1 didn't even run once...

Good mod for the most classic TBS game! And make the original version more compatiable! Sir, just a thought, could you add some support for chinese localization? Or is there something I can do to help make this happen?

Great work. I think 1.13 has strayed too far from its original goal. I'm gravitating more and more toward the vanilla game, and I'm thankful for this fan patch.
Fully agreed. 1.13 is without a doubt the greatest mod for JA2 and one of the most ambitious projects for any game, but it has become a new game altogether. Going back to vanilla/stracciatella feels very refreshing to me.
