This project is the continuation of our work in Warband crusade MOD "In the Name of Jerusalem". We will continue to extend and improve the old settings. The new campaign map will expand to the Upper Danube, the Nile Delta, the Dinaric Alps, and Transcaucasia. The Bulgarian Empire and Grand Principality of Serbia will be added. Kingdom of Georgia, the Saltukids and the Artuqids (probably Eldiguzids) may comes later. The timeline still starts from 1187, but we will try to add more interesting historical events until 1204 - including the Fourth Crusade.

The chain mail doesn't look good, tbh.
Looks like a silver jacket, no links separation, too reflective and surface too smooth.

If you could improve as you progress would be great

It's PBR + rendering. It doesn't look like this in actual gameplay.

Good to know, thanks for the reply.
Please interpret this as critiques to make improvements, after all the mod looks amazing and all credit goes to you.

Yeah in this video it looks better

But still, the chain mail falls short in terms of looks compared to the other amazing models, the fabric just looks perfect.

In that video some chain links seem a little glitched (cut in half or don't join properly), also, maybe the black background behind the links doesn't help with the issue.
Possibly is also that the chain links texture that isn't that great?...

The problem is that look it just looks too flat, i wonder if it's possible to give it a more 3d look, adding the perception of roughness and volume.

This looks better for example.

Maybe trying to model the chain links instead of a texture?
(i have no experience in modeling, not sure if what i said is correct)

But again, for example, this models don't look like the chain links are fully modeled and look very good.

Thank you for your long reply, but actually you said the better mail on the helmet is the same as in this screenshot. We use HP to bake on the LP model, and each ring is modeled. But as I said above, this screenshot is in a special HDR and uses the game's
filter. It looks very distorted. You can go back to the last two screenshots in the editor, which effect is closer to what we can see with our eyes in the game

unless you model individual rivets in 3d, chainmail will always be limited in looks. this chainmail is as good as it gets. individual rivets with alpha transparency is already included. look at edges of the chainmail

provided in-game example from a real retail game that has better chainmail examples, don't included super high polygon from 3d rendering software. it won't be the same once it's transported to in-game.
