This Alien: Isolation mod tweaks the AI of the Alien to fix some issues and provide a similar but more organic experience. The focus is to make the Alien: slightly less unfair, able to surprise you in more diverse ways, and omnipresent but still not all-knowing while creating situations as tense as before. You can find a more detailed list of the changes made to the AI by the mod in the complete description. Thank you and have fun!

An excellent tweak for the Alien AI that provides new tense moments and unexpected scary behavior - especially for veterans of the game who like to play on Nightmare. I found the Alien searching for me in places that it would not normally do so - I noticed immediately toward the Hospital section that she is wise to vents and not afraid to go into them to look for the player.

She also patrols... Somewhat unpredictably. It's predictable in a good way, in that if you make a lot of noise in a certain area, you bet your *** she'll check that area. And she won't just get bored either, she'll keep going. The Alien seems very much more intelligent with this mod, and I love it.

I'm also not entirely sure if this is true, but I have had a few moments where the alien 'faked' out her checking a hiding spot. I would hide in a locker, she would approach and check through the door to see if I'm in there, and then she'd walk away. But then, moments after releasing my breath, she would immediately run back to the same locker and look inside again. Very cool, and honestly very scary to see these sorts of things.

As a veteran player, I'm not sure I could play without this mod. It's just a straight up better experience if you play on Nightmare (I have not played this mod with any other difficulty).

I found this mod to be a much better alternative to the "Unpredictable Alien" mod, in fairly every way.

I discovered within literally seconds that Betty (The Xeno) enjoys deploying from ceiling vents previously unused, throughout my 550 standing hours in the game. I also noted some very interesting movements, as though the she was trying to head me off, in certain areas. Very Fun, and wonderfully surprising!

One thing to note, however; she still doesn't like to go into the wall vents, and I never noticed her checking out any lockers or cabinets, throughout the entirety of my experience; it's one of those 'under utilized' areas of the game that I'd like to see some progress made in.

All in all, I'm happy to give my blessings to this mod, and its author.

Can't wait to see what more you can do!

I just finished a playthrough on Normal using the mod. Gotta say, well done Mr_Koroshiya. This definitely feels to me more like a balanced Alien. The times I did die to the Alien felt fair. All the scripted Alien events triggered as normal, so all good there. I don't have anything negative to say really. No disrespect to the Unpredictable Alien mod, but I appreciate your updated mod.

A few things to mention for possible improvements...

------
You mentioned that "The Alien is more attracted by player-accessible vents."

I am not sure if you mean he is just drawn to check them out more closely. Or if you mean he is more likely to enter them and follow you. On my playthrough the
Alien only enter one vent and I think it was a scripted Alien drop. He dropped inside a vent I was leaving. So I know he didn't follow me in there.

It would be cool if you could increase the chances that the Alien will sniff locker doors more often. On my playthrough, he didn't sniff any lockers. He was close to doing it but never did. Understandable if you can't adjust that.

I'd be glad to test your mod further if you do any more tweaking to it. Thanks.
