The goal of this mod is to bring back the units from the original Homeworld into the Homeworld 2 engine, with high quality texture and polycount detail. The campaign and animatics from the original game will also be included.
I was playtesting a bit and took a few shots to post here, they turned out so great i decided to make them into wallpapers. If you like them feel free to use them.
HOT DAMN!!!! This reminds me so much of a mod that had the same goal, recreate HW1 in HW2, it unfortunately went defunct, but THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!
KEEP IT UP!!! :)
Thanks:)
What mod was that? Maybe it has something we can use.
Requiem War, most probably.
Bingo, there was a demo a long time ago but it's likely long gone, the site shut down a while ago....
JK, consider these wallpapers for pre-game screens also.
You meant loading screens, right?
THIS IS AMAZING
HOLY S'JET!!! :O
Oh man I wish you took these pics while forcing antialiasing.
forcing antialiasing, can it be done? i've tried once but nada.
Works fine with my card. Img560.imageshack.us
Actually the jaggies in your wallpapers look like they are more than one pixel inaccurate. Either you took the screenshots and then zoomed the size of the picture, or you are running the game at the improper resolution for your monitor.
If it's the latter, you can easily fix it by adding -w 1680 -h 1050 to the target line of your mod's shortcut. It doesn't matter if it's before or after the -mod modname.big
This overrides the in-game resolution option setting. Change the numbers to your actual monitor resolution.
Do you have those TTF for windows use?
I use -w 1360 -h 768, it's the max my old LCD accepts, but yes the image was resized to make the wallpaper.
But how do you force antialiasing on your GPU? I have a Radeon 6800.
I have a Radeon HD 5670. I just open the Catalyst Control Center, head to the 3D tab, and set everything how I want it. Sometimes in-game settings override it, sometimes they don't. HW2 doesn't.
For that particular screenshot I set everything as high as I could: Uncheck all "use application settings" boxes, 8x antialiasing level with edge-detect filter, no morphological filtering, 16x anistropic filtering, high quality catalyst AI and surface format optomization unchecked, max quality mipmaps, and supersample antialiasing mode.

You cropped and then increased the size of the image, huh? Photoshoppers would cringe at that, and Illustrator users would take the opportunity to cite the primary benefits of vector graphics. Not that you can capture HW2 screens in vector format, of course.

What is TTF?
ttf=fonts
The Homeworld font is MicrogrammaD Bold (Extended).
En.wikipedia.org
You can find the font for free in the dregs of the internet. The actual Homeworld logos (1, 2, and Cata) were manually modified in an image editor, probably Photoshop

Chances are pretty good copywrite laws will land hard if a popular font line like Microgramma gets used in a commercial product without license.
