The nature of this MOD is the graphic enhancement of the ships featured in the original Homeworld game. In this DEMO pack you'll find both
Kushan and Taiidan capable to build basic fleets. Enjoy!
We have updated our DEMO, now revision 671-34.
GOALSThe main purpose of this DEMO is to give you a small taste of what we have done for multiplayer and Singleplayer campaign.
FEATURESYou'll find both Kushan and Taiidan to play with.It includes: - Light and Heavy Interceptors - Bombers - Light, Heavy and Multigun Corvettes - Minelayer, Repair and Salvage Corvettes - Resource Collectors and Controllers - Standard, Support and Ion Frigates. - Carrier and Destroyer. - And their respective MothershipThe game allows Singleplayer Campaign, Player vs AI and Multiplayer, with multiple options to customize your match, Including some test scenarios and a Ship Test Duel Gamemode to allow you to test the ships in a controlled situation.
VERSION 668A lot of changes have been done since the last demo:-Most of the basic ships from HW1 (up to the Destroyer, Including the Mothership)-First Campaign mission-Completely new flight maneuvers for fighters-Most formations for fighters and corvettes-Fuel and AI auto dock script-Complete research tech tree-Challenging AI-Ship Test Duel Gamemode (for you to test individual ships in a controlled situation)-Full multiplayer experience, with new maps and broad gamemode customization (settings for research, resource injections, injections intervals, fuel, a nice variety of unitcaps).-Build speed has been lowered from 10x to 4x (It was originally for testing purposes only), because HW1 build times are too long for serial building rather than parallel.
SUPPORTThere is a file in *.BIG format, an animatics folder and the readme inside the ZIP file.
Please take a look at the readme first, installation instructions and important notes are inside.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTSThe nature of this MOD is the graphic enhancement of the stock ships present in HW1. This DEMO is a temporary tool and has a short and specific credit section. If you notice anything missing in particular, be kind to contact us before any public move so we can solve the eventual problem without harm to any parties and by consequence, without annoying the rest of the community.
LICENSINGNo ships can be used publicly in any MOD without our permission. We haven't defined yet where and how these ships will be used outside Homeworld Remastered. We are using this DEMO so people can come over and tell us where they plan to use our work and we will define a public policy later. Your MOD must really add value to apply for the usage of Homeworld Remastered, but you should not give up on your request. Just let us know about it and together we can find a way for your MOD.

My friend, thanks for your work!
The ships models are fine, however I consider, that they demand small correction.
I consider that the part of vertex merged-points, should be divided, to get rid of superfluous smoothing of geometry of details.
Also majority Secondary LODs should be facilitated.
Having made these details, work will seem to the player completely the faultless...
Your input is really apreciated.
YESSSSS THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
Just tried it out, very impressive work. I absolutely love your remastering of the Kharak system, and all of the other ships look fantastic. The number one suggestion for improvement at this point is vessel selection. It can be hard at times to click on things other than drag select. :( Other than that very satisfied, can't wait for more! :D
I'm yet to understand how to solve that, after years of knowing that issue I'm still not sure how.
Yikes, yeah I understand. I've done some modding before and have had things like this. :( Maybe there's some sort of hardcoded selection radius based on some other factor that is centered on the center point of the model? It certainly seems like there is a sweet spot that differs by ship.
That is because of the CM mesh you can manually adjust it but i wouldnt recommend it, also it determines where the ship gets hit at.
Levi is right, not even the "mouseOverMinFadeSize" or "mouseOverMaxFadeSize" values does anything to change it, seems like its hardcoded.
I have also been having an issue with the game becoming very laggy as more ships are built. My computer can handle this fine in vanilla, do you guys have any idea what could be the problem? I have trouble playing with it...
:(
More specifically, it is like a lag spike that occurs in regular intervals of about 1 second, which gets longer and more serious the more ships are built... It gets unplayable pretty fast :(
Its the fuel script, I gave an option to disable it for skirmish in the Gamemode settings, since its not a very optimized code its only recommended with medium or less unitcaps.
Oh ok yeah I found it. Thanks :)
I can't play this mod now, help!
Whenever I launch a new game, it just crashes!
The Hw2.log says "could not find family SuperCapSmall_Hgn, All family names should be defined in data\scripts\FamilyList.lua."
I didn't have such problem with your last version.
Hi Siliconworm,
Check if your command line does have "-overridebigfile" enabled and delete it. "Familylist.lua" is working everywhere else. It's either that or a corrupted file in the download.
Just use the launcher. It's the best option when playing with .big files.
I need to try this ASAP.
