In the time after the Vaygr War, the Hiigarans felt that they needed better defenses against their enemies, and as such they created the Imperial Guard, an elite branch of Hiigarans from all Kiths. The Imperial Guard was created to be a shield against the Hiigarans foes to protect it's citizens, if you are to attack the Hiigaran Empire the first fleet to respond is the Imperial Guard.
Note: The Imperial Guard isn't a new faction its just some new Hiigaran Fleet that is for Dark War's story, as well sorry for the 800-600 resoultion.
