HW2 does shadows by default, was there something done to the default shadows? Are they not restricted to within a single ship HOD now? :D

Nathanius: In the game options there's a set for showing shadows or not. Check if you can enable and disable it per profile ...

I looked at their forum, Shadows in Space is the name of a new map in complex 8.3. Nothing to do with actual graphics

I find the game very slow after 15 years or so. FPS drops to below 20. It's probably the game engine struggling to cope with the amount of debris.
Anyways, nice looking map. Probably something like the solar system map in 8.2?
a lot of it has to do with the limits the engine has pre-set with in it. Salvage is a big one but so are resources, get over 5000 objects in a map and it will start to lag, same with ship optimization, reduced LOD's should be used on ships instead of higher res ones when zoomed out, that fix's a lot of issues.
