Improved everything. Simply everything...
This mod is so big, it has to be uploaded as two RAR files! The other part is here:
Download Simplex 3.9 (Part 2 of 2) - Mod DB
Extract both files to your Homeworld2\Data folder (with WinRAR 5.0 or higher version) and read the PDF manual for installation.
Main changes from 3.8:
Improved fx
Improved stability -- 00000000 crash has been effectively eliminated by reducing excessive sound fx. However, 00000010 and 00000030 crash still exist (since somewhere around 3.0) and the cause is still unknown despite hundreds of tests. One possibility is memory leak due to how far mod has already pushed beyond what the original HW2 engine was designed for. So the only way to be secure is to save your game frequently.
New maps, megaliths, ships, subsystems, research, music, etc.
New cheat functions. You can now add Honor Points and increase your unit cap.
Some megaliths have wreck now.
Hiigaran and Vaygr can now call in tactical support for all classes of ships at the cost of Honor Points. This opens the possibility for a new gameplay style: you can just focus on the combat instead of building if you think you are really good at it (when in fact you are probably not).
Shipwreck can now be captured and repaired to restore the original ship (inspired by C&C3).
Improved repair function. Patchers and Mechanics will now more readily repair nearby ships.
Improved performance under extreme conditions -- this is done by cutting the computing load when there are too many FTL Light Granules, ECM or Smoke Screen dummy objects present. Also, the shoot at surrounding ability of all weapons has been removed.
Rudimentary support for multiplayer -- all randomness in weapon files have been removed. All random functions in Lua scripts are substituted with a pseudo random function. Drive Mode and Cheats are disabled in multiplayer. But out of synch still always happens when tested in multibox mode.
Changed camera vertical FOV to 55 degrees to minimize mismatch between foreground and background during rotation.
the power station dont generate power... i have 5 magnets on it and it still generate 0 power ??
Thanks for the feedback. The problem has been located based on another report and is currently being dealt with.
UPDATE: There was a bug in the mod that could cause the cheat console and power to stop working (related to global variable scope and ping labels). It has been fixed now. If you experienced such problem, you only need to redownload the updated part 1 and overwrite your old SimplexART.big.
great work Siliconworm.

this mod is AMASING..
im glad you found the error.

You're welcome! Feel free to report any problem you have encountered anytime.
Hey Silliconworm, thanks for this amazing mod! After all these years, this keeps breathing new fresh air into this amazing game. Thank you for all the work you've done on it thus far!
I've been silently following this for years, and it's impressive what you manage to do with an old engine like this, there's simply no comparison anymore with the original versus what it has become now. Will you ever run out of ideas at this rate?
Again, thanks so much for the work you do! I'm really looking forward as to where you bring this amazing project next, thank you for keeping my childhood alive man!!

Glad to know you like the mod! Ideas will never run out, only disk space... ModDB only allows uploading a single file up to 2GB, and this mod is already on the verge of surpassing 4GB (if not all the unused files are strictly removed programmatically before uploading, it's already well over 4GB). So, this is currently the major limitation for this mod. I don't want to upload 3 parts for each version, so there can't be many new ships in the game, since those take too much space.
Oh, I see... That sucks, I didn't think ModDB would limit you on that, although it does make sense given the amount of mods there are on here. Wouldn't you be able to instead of using this, using a google drive/mega/other hosting download link? Or even self hosting your own web page/.com?
I don't know if any of those are viable. for you personally; If not, and if you want help, I have web hosting of my own, without file limit; I can even help you out with a .com or something alike, for free, no strings attached.
Anyways, let me know, I'd love to help out, this mod has given me thousands of hours of fun at this point most likely, I'd love to help give something in return for that.
Thanks a lot, we'll see when this mod finally hits the limit. Before that, you are always welcome to share your feedbacks about the mod, no matter whether it's bug report or new ideas. Experience from hardcore players like you is truly a gold mine for any modder.
