Hello Blitzkrieg Mod lovers, welcome to D-DAY JUNE 1944 & AFRIKA 43 Historical Add-on, the Realistic official modification for COH Blitzkrieg mod including the New North African battle game mode with exclusive units & desert maps, Only for Company of Heroes Blitzkrieg Mod, Good luck soldier!
This new infantry a.i. smart cover might be implemented in Blitzkrieg mod as well as far as i know...
Before:
- When encountering an enemy, AI tells the squad to move in until all squad members are within 95% weapon range
- After reaching 95% weapon range, squad will try to find cover
After:
- When encountering an enemy, AI tells the squad to find cover
- Squad will not move if already in cover
- Squad will not move if the target is out of weapon's range
"Attack" AI (Attack or Attack Move Orders)
Before:
- AI tells the squad to move into 100% weapon range
- After reaching 100% weapon's range, squad will try to find cover
- Over the next ~30 seconds, AI tells squad to move up to 60% weapon's range
- Finds cover as it goes
After:
- AI tells the squad to move into 100% weapon range
- After reaching 100% weapon's range, squad will try to find cover
- Squad will remain at 100% weapon range
- Squad will periodically check for new cover, but won't move out of cover
This is actually more of an issue for BK than in vCoH because of the increased weapon ranges. To reach 60% weapons range a unit in vanilla might move as many as 14 units, but in BK that goes all the way up to 24.

Yeah, I know from where this idea actually comes from...

It would be really interesting to see how exactly this would greatly improve our own squads behaviour.. but won't this lead for incompatibility problems with the D-Day attachment I suppose?!
Squads behaviour are really amazing, im actually very surprised, and yes its coming from Bk forum from a Bk member, and of course its compatible ;)
I found how the Infantry AI acted while using "Attack move" quite annoying. Squads would get separated and soldiers would run directly into the line of fire of the enemy (more often than not getting killed).
Changing AI Infantry behavior seems interesting though.
I agree, it was something quite annoying indeed, now the infantry don't act stupidly in front of enemies and don't get kill in 2 sec because they are just running around without engaging targets or jump out of their cover when in fight.
