Here are some shots from the final area of the MOD I have been working on. It is called Antlion Cave Arena.
And one more high res. shot of the dock-breakwater-lighthouse area.
In this single player level for Half-Life 2, Gordon Freeman (the player) finds himself on the sea shore with a terrible hangover. He is surrounded by empty beer bottles a few Headcrab corpses and a bicycle. Does not remember anything about how he got there or what happened there and the night before. Sets off to find out and as usual gets into a bunch of “fun” activities along the way.
k
too many repeat textures.
exterior looks acceptable though.
It's a cave, so of course there will only be a few repeating textures. It was like this in HL2 ep2, and it is like this in real life. And there are plenty of variations, just color wise there is: red, brown, green, yellow, and blue.
Real life doesn't use textures. That's illogical.
lol so youre saying that everything in real life has no texture?
you blind?
What are you talking about? Textures are obviously existent. Do you assume that they repeat? I don't think these caverns were made by man, and therefore the rock forms shouldn't be so repeating. However, I wouldn't expect you to comprehend the most basic concept of texture work so I also wouldn't expect you to give me an intelligible response.
For gods sake stop being a smartass,5omeone.
The intention of most games is to get as close to real life as possible.
And YES real life does use textures, you obviously missed out in school.
Or dont go to school yet afterall.
What are you talking about that cave looks amazing!
nice!
The water is being pretty obnoxious in this shot, tone down the reflectivity if you can. Aside from that, this looks awesome. Good job.
lighthouse is the best image
lighthouse looks like it was developed in a different style from the rest of the game. You should try to get the caves to reflect the same style as the lighthouse image - bright, full of color, and prominent.
Nice work guys, keep it up.
OH ****, LOOK AT THAT, I JUST SAID SOMETHING NICE! WHO WOULD OF THOUGHT..
