Copying the following message here to ensure maximum visibility regarding why the Orion is replacing the Phoenix as the starting colony capital for the UNSC:
We at SotP love the Spirit of Fire and we have plans for the model in the future (moreso after it's detailed in Halo: Fleet Battles), but at the end of the day we have to evaluate every piece of lore 343 puts out and ask ourselves if it fits better than what was there before.
I try to evaluate each new ship from the following perspective: If I were deciding to start the mod today, based on the lore as it stands now with the new information, what decisions would I make? What best serves the fanbase going forward? What is going to translate best for Halo fans that will only find the mod a year or two from now?
I realize that will likely upset Bungie purists and so forth, but my view has evolved on this to where I feel a sense of stewardship in the experience. We have an obligation to folks that will find the mod later as well, to craft something that will make sense to them along with current fans.
i mean as someone who probably loves the Spirit of Fire more than most halo fans (Halo Wars was probably my favorite Halo game) i gotta say, if any ship is going to replace her, THIS SHIP is one damn fine candidate. it doesn't have the history but it certainly has the looks
A Space Stunstick. Strong enough to consolidate opposition (which they don't have) thoughts about official authoriorities, but (unfortunately, of course) rather weak to penetrate elites' armor.
Oh boy, it looks really great in action! I've a feeling this might be my new replacement for Epoch-class heavy carriers that I rely on so much for fighter support. ^.^
TBH although I like some of the new stuff, this is one of the ships that sort of resonates the mediocrity of 343's ship designs, in my opinion. The new Covenant ships from Halo 5 look quite abysmal, IMO, but yet the Epoch-Class, Lich, CRS-Class, and the Punic-Class fit in quite nicely with the older designs. The Infinity, Orion, and Strident are all kind of meh in appearance.
Just my two cents. You all did a wonderful job creating this new ship model, and I know how hard modding work is as I have done it myself, so my wholehearted "thanks to the chef."

Will you guys implement the new way that the Phoenix is included in the mod when you put in the Orion?
He just stated, "We at SotP love the Spirit of Fire and we have plans for the model in the future..."
Yeah those plans are a hero system. I was wanting to know if they'll implement that system when they put the Orion into the mod.
Is this the Orion Battlecruiser with that glorious MAC? Or another type of Orion Class?
This Orion is an Assault carrier, the other one is now called the Artemis Battlecruiser.

Now that is an awesome shot. It almost seems as if it came from some kind of animation.

U wot?
you always seem to get downvoted lol
Of course he always does. Noone likes long, boring posts about one's personal feelings in such official manner. And he's russian ;))

Not so worried about it being lore tight honestly, more worried about gameplay!
It looks awesome, I´m gonna miss the Phoenix Class, good thing is just for a while though.
I cannot remember the last time this was discussed but what were your plans for making a human-covie war era mod and a post war??
We'll discuss this more thoroughly at a later time.
I have an idea :1) Give zo phoenix more hp (its 2x bigger than marathon).
2) Orion will be owned by rebels.
