Some new updates about the status of the maps in Half-Life: In Deep.

Lately I've been going back and reworking and redoing old InDeep maps, and giving them actual lighting that isn't terrible. I thought I'd show you some progress on some of them.

Here's a little version history of the Loading Dock in the Communications Center for In Deep:

Old New Newer


The newest iteration of the room (far right) was made entirely from scratch, re-using none of the old geometry. I've been doing this for a lot of older less appealing maps, but most of the work has been going into the Communications Center.

I've also been using new lighting techniques to make more competent looking maps, as shown here:

It's fairly similar to how good Source Engine lighting is made, and I wasn't sure it would pay off so much in GoldSrc. But it really did. Here's some more work-in-progress lighting for the Communications Center, Helipad. If you have any ideas for this area, feel free to leave them in the comments.

Well I've run out of things to say, so I'll leave you all with some nice texture assets created for the Communications Center, using the Arrowhead textures from 2013 as a base.

I must say along with your mod I believe there are 1 or 2 other mods trying to re-create Hl Alpha assets and I was never really trilled about them due to the fact that they truly did re-create the maps and their boring lightning 1to1.

Your mod is the first re-recreational mod that I'm actually getting interested in. You did some lovely work on the light enhancements. Who is to say that when re-creating maps you can't make em look a little more appealing and pretty. You did that & with success - a job well done. Looking forward to release.
