Caught by the remaining Combine, Gordon Freeman must escape to rescue his imprisoned rebel allies. Aided by the resourceful Dawn and her insurgents, you are sprung from captivity in order to spearhead a staged breakout from the notorious Port Halen Prison. But before you can get there you must loose your Combine pursuers and make your way through a wilderness long since overrun by the zombified.

Half Life 2: Dawn was developed as a student project on the IT-University of Copenhagen in 2006. It took us, a group of five game and level designers, around two months to get it all together, bringing you around one hour of game play. Enjoy!

Better footage than doitall
Here is some gameplay from this mod, feel free to use the footage for whatever!
Ive downloaded and installed this Mod, but when I launch it, the VALVE logo video plays, then there is a DING, and it just crashes back out to the desktop, no error message, nothing. I have all the Source SDK bases installed. Ive even tried the steampipe fixes, but to no avail at all, it just will not work. Anyone have a fix for this, as i really enjoyed playing it before. It did launch to the menu for a split second, then it crashed out, and not been able to run it since.

I have the same issue - was a fix ever found?
This mod does not support the Source SDK 2013, it can only run on the old version of Half-Life 2 before the Steampipe update.
just in case anyone is still interested in fixing the crashing issue, you cannot set a launch option on the mod itself. you should do it instead in source sdk 2006, type "-w 1024 -h 768" on the launch option to be able to play the game again.
