Soundfonts (SF2) for chipmusic, chiptune and retro games.
To install just unzip the contents of this file in the "soundfonts" subfolder inside your main GZDoom folder.
A quick review of the fonts included in this pack:
- 8bitsf (by TheEighthBit): One of the best small sound-fonts around. The DPCM slap bass and percussions are very punchy.
- atarifixrealgood (by stgiga+littlescale+drunkenjesus+akwf+gashisoft+zandroreville): This is a GM bank based on atari 2600. It sounds very VCS authentic but the bass is pretty bad and it is not good at polyphony.
- doomSNES (by Patricio Herrera): It is what it says on the tin.
- Famicom (by Kitt): This is a very simple sound-font based around square waves. It lacks percussions but the harmonics are really good.
- GBfont (by MaliceX): Square, Saw, Saw2, Sine and Noise. It uses pretty much polyphony, maybe too much.
- Konami VRC6 v2 (by Love for soundfont): Featuring the Konami Virtual ROM Controller 6. It has a nice FM-Synth sound to it.
- SuperGameBoy (by 48 LAC): This sound-font has the samples used in some Game Boy games when played on a Super Game Boy. It has a synth feel to it.
Other recommended heavier sound-fonts:
The Ultimate Megadrive Soundfont
Nintendo Soundfont
Chiptune Soundfont v3.0
Patch93's SC-55
