GRIM JIM is a story-driven horror themed multiplayer survival modification of the successful Half Life 2, in which players enter the roles of a group of talented thieves tasked with stealing a valuable object for an anonymous client. Unbeknownst to them, the long-abandoned office building that is their target has since been transformed to fit the demented mind of Jim; an ex-employee who was fired due to a psychological breakdown after being the subject of constant ridicule for his strange obsessions. Shortly thereafter, all of the employees - and Jim - disappeared. The office was soon closed down after a fruitless investigation, and the story of Jim became known only as an urban legend; a mass murderer and demented soul who hides in the shadows of his old workplace, waiting for his next victims. He is known only, as Grim Jim.
Concept of the office building in which the game takes place.
I'm guessing this wasn't done in Valve Hammer? :P Seems cool though, there's plenty of places to hide for a demented soul or two...
Correctemundo. Jezza will no doubt explain it.
Ah, if only Source could do reflections like that. The world would be a better place.
Source can. It's only matter of skills. Play a bit with materials\cubemaps\light\mirror and I think it would look better than this. :3
Thanks, the architecture was all done in Google Sketchup, then moved over to our designated mapper. I've tested a BSP compile and run around inside the building, it manages to keep light from outside away pretty easily and is quite un-nerving to walk around in the dark :)
