Galaxy At War - Clone Wars is a total conversion mod for the Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption 2006 real-time strategy that brings us the Clone Wars galactic conflict
Hello guys! I want to share with you one idea which I came up recently. I learned different attack types and noticed that relations of rates don't fit with our mod. And I wanted to make something custom. I remembered from the TV-series that the fire did not affected droids, but it acted on organics. Then I started to think about to develop our own "Damage Calculation Tables" to improve the realism of our mod.
We see from the tables that "Fire" attack type deals only 20% of base damage for such types of armor like unarmored (droid) and light armor (droid). When for light armor type of Ph. I and II clones it deals 200% and 150% (relatively) of base damage. This type of armor will be worn by clones. Then you'll ask a question: What is the purpose of clones-flamethrowers? And the answer is rather simple: They will be an effective infantry against jedi, sith and the native on planets. This is only WIP, so we need much time and work. I'm interested about your opinion about this. I wait for your ideas, maybe they could change the tables fundamentally ;)
for example:
Normal attack - clone troopers, droid soldiers and etc.
Piercing attack - sniper
flame attack - flamethrower, flame-tower and defoliator
missile attack - rocket launcher
grenade attack - mortar brigade
light saber attack - jedi and sith
light armor (I) and (II) - clone troopers I and II phase (mandalorians, umbarans)
light armor (droid) - B2 droids soldiers
unarmored (droid) - b1 droid soldiers
Medium and heavy armor - different vehicles of both factions
unarmored - the natives of different planets other (wookiee, genosians etc.)
fortified armor - buildings
hero armor (I) and (II) - different heroes of units

Flaming can be also useful to overheat droid systems
Still, even normal blasters would fry the droid quicker than a flamethrower. Besides, the GAR has specific equipment to deal with the droid opponents, such as EMP weaponry. It is the natives such as Geos or Neimoidians that should fear the flame the most.
talking about native races, wookies are tougher than geonosians for example, are they have the same health points?
Wookiees have huge health points but movement speed slow than geonosians
It's always a nice thing to see GaW in the updates, plus such a complex one. Good thinking on the devs' part.
