Freeworlds: Tides of War is a fan built Star Wars total conversion mod for Digital Anvil's Freelancer game that was released several years ago. When fans began to make mods for Freelancer, one of the many things people were keen on seeing was a Freelancer mod based on the Star Wars universe developed by George Lucas. Freeworlds and Tides of War were the answer to this outcry. The development team of both mods have now joined forces to create an epic new Star Wars TC, Freeworlds: Tides of War.
This is a video capturing our new missile/torpedo special effects that have been worked on by FriendlyFire. We've tried to go as canon as possible with most of the effects while adding a little artistic flare.
Amazing!
Shouldn't the proton bomb be fired downwards like on the tie bombers in empire strikes back?
Is there any timeframe for a beta release fo the full mod? Are you going to include a full installer with freespace included as it is abandonware?
TIE bombers only fired downwards during planetary bombardments, otherwise their bombs are fired forward like on all other ships.
Since the mod and the Freelancer community aren't related to Freespace in any way, I'm not sure why we'd include Freespace? You must be confusing both games here. Freelancer is not abandonware.
The thing that makes the bombs go down is gravity ^^
"Abandonware is a term used to describe computer software that is no longer sold or supported, or whose copyright ownership may be unclear for various reasons."
FL is abandonware ;)
Still that does not make it legal to include the whole game in a mod.
Great effects, FF!
I wish it was abandonware, w0d, but it's still sold on a lot of sites, namely Amazon (new, not used). Hence by your definition it is not abandonware.
Thanks though!
The Concussion Missile really has a nice tail
The Proton Torpedo is Red small and deadly
Both the Heavy Rocket and the Proton Bomb have a nice explosion effect
Overall FF did a really great job ;D
I meant freelancer. I'm just trying to say when the mod is released it would be good if everything was integrated in one installer.
There will probably be one file to download or a part of the file and like 18.xx you will receive updates from time to time
But all you see now will be included in 1 single download because it is the whole mod!
Well, it is very simple and easy to install and manage mods with the FreeLancer Mod Manager, so you just download one archive and open it with FLMM, activate it, and all will be fine.
We won't be using FL Mod Manager.
