Alliance are a serie of different mods. On the Star Wars GC, you can play the civil war Empire vs Rebel era + Black Sun and soon the Republic and CIS.
This demo has been archived by the uploader because it is out of date and no longer supported. We recommend you browse the file list for the latest demo.
Alliance mod was initialy a Spanish mod, next it was translated to other languages like English and German. It is a “small” versión from the mod with units from Episode IV and Episode VI. This version uses only planets and GC from the original game with a new galaxy map. Really it is not a full versión without many things, it was made like a different mod with things from the complete mod. By it, you can see many things different.
Main changes from Light 2.3 to 2.3.1:
-Better IA on skirmiss.
-Many changes on space laser proyectiles.
-Golan upgraded.
-Goliath collision repaired.
-Power to the shields ability repaired.
-Many changes on spaceunits shields and energy values. Now more realistic.
-Star Viper repaired.
-New skins on spacemodels made by Nawrocki.
-New Gass Giants skins by Burnstrobe.
-A experimental skirmiss map with a horizontal planet.
-Endor skirmiss map support now 4 players.
-Added complete side fleets.
-Deleted Rogue Squadron like a main hero, added General Rieekan. Now Luke Skywalker can call the Rogue Squadron reinforce on space. General Rieekan can
call the reinforce from General Madine and it can call the reinforce from Rogue Squadron snowspeeders.
-Fighter and bomber squadrons have 6 units, it gives more reserves to all spaceunits and it does not overload computer hardware.
-Graphics problems on some graphic cards fixed.
-Main menu backgroun edited and reorganized.
-Fighter and bomber units have better settings for look for enemy units and escort units.
-Fixed small corvettes and cruisers weapons.
-Added a few more galactic fleet icons for Dodonna Assault Frigate, Sundered Heart and more.
-Added a Spaceship to the General Dodonna.
-New Acclamators Cruisers models from Evillejedi with Nawrocki skins.
-New missile on ATST-s.
-Fixed movement sound Juggernauth A6.
-Changed Felucia spacemap.
-Changed Jabiim land map.
-New icons some new units.
-More weapons on Victory Star Destroyers.
-Torpedoes, heavy rockets and missiles can not cross shields impact on them. Better resistance from all spaceunits to bomber attacks.
-Many explosion particles edited.
And many more things fixed, changed or added, these are the things that I remember now.
Main changes on Light 2.3:
-Underworld side is now the Black Sun.
-There are space construction vehicles for all the sides, they build different plattforms only on galactic conflict. They are deployed by the main starbases.
-There are new and different galactic fleet icons for the Executor, Empire probe, Rebel transports, Empire transports and Black Sun transports.
-There are different spacestructures like the shipyards, factories, a space asteroid mine, defense plattforms like the golans and one hypergun space plattform.
-All sides have a MDU vehicle with a few new special plattforms.
-There are many new skins for all the units, buildings and more, they are many better, specially the skins from original things. All them were modded by Burnstrobe.
-Corruption big effects have been deleted, it should make faster the game with Black Sun side.
-There are thousands of new particle graphics and small models like proyectiles.
-There are new orbital models from many planets.
-The new 3D camera on space and land tactical battles.
-All the space models have been remade from the last previous version of the mod. There are many new changes on graphics and on other things from the models.
-There are many land units but many of them can be used like a reinforce from other units, it makes a small land units tab.
-There are a new Space Call Reinforces code.
-Many new abilities like the small bombardement, the new capture ships code or many other small things on code.
MOD INSTALLATION:
Unzip mod into the main fólder from SW Empire at War Forces of Corruption.
For to run it, you will need the SMG launcher made by SMG team or launch the bat file that you will see on your game folder named Alliance2.3L. Both will load the mod if you unziped it well.

the way the screen is tilted is a lil bothersome but beyond that great mod
its great but it has a fatal flaw which is going to make me stop playing the mod in a day or so... i just finished playing galactic conquest... its 11:08 pm right now... i started a space battle, relatively small fleets in comparison to other battles i've been in, at about 9:30... they had an SSD and about 5 lesser capital ships while i doubled their firepower... in a different mod or even the original game that battle would have taken me about ten, maybe fifteen or twenty minutes tops. about half an hour into it i finished off the rest of their capital ships, then it took me an additional hour just killing off all the star fighter squadrons that spawned from those capital ships, the battle ended at 11:06... so please make star fighter squadrons die faster or something so i'm not spending an hour after every battle putting all possible units on hunt and waiting for all the star fighter squadrons to die until the computer finally decides "oh i don't stand a chance in this battle, i should retreat" and don't tell me to put the battle on auto resolve because if i do then i'd be needlessly losing some of my ships. so this is a big flaw to fix. please fix it
With fighters use gunboats, lancer, missile cruisers and other special antifighter weapons. It is a strategy game and you need a strategy.;)
i've rarely had to use gunboats. i've always relied on star fighters to do the job. which the reinforcements in space need a little fixing because i know there is one unit in the empire whose reinforcements come with gunboats which they never came, and i know that the reinforcements go to your reinforcement pool when you have max units. not to mention the spacestations dont have gunboat garrison. they never came. but regardless if one uses fighters or gunboats to cleanup the enemy fighters it shouldn't take an hour. it takes forever for seven squads of tie fighters and four squads of tie interceptors to take out one squad of black sun fighters.
Sorry but it is not true, if you use a incorrect strategy......it is your problem, I have played thousand of battles and enemy fighters are the first on die, a lancer frigate, corellian heavy gunboat, bayonet cruiser, all missile cruisers and every corvettes can destroy fighters without problems. A fighter is not the best to destroy enemy fighters because they must destroy one by one and it is very realistic. And I have forgotten remember you the spaceships with flack guns, the fast orange laser, it can destroy very easily fighters.
The unique thing that I go to change is the Skypray squads, now they are divided on three groups from 3 fighters. I will joing them on 12 fighters.
About Space Stations Garrison, I will add more Corellian Gunboats but they have corvette and more good weapons. By example a Bayonet Barrage can clear a big zone of space from enemy fighters. Please, it is a strategy game, it is not a simulator or a fast RTS. Play a skirmiss game, look the different units and his abilities.
Of course, I wait a mod upgrade (non a patch) very soon with some fix, some changes and some new units like heroes, spaceunits and groundvehicles.
well i have started using tartan cruisers, and another gunship, don't remember the name off the top of my head, and since then the battles have been going allot smoother. but when i try and watch them and see how they're affecting the battle i am seeing little progress from them. i might just be missing something. but my biggest time waster is that the fighters, for me, are always the last things to survive. and i play against the computer, just because i know how the computer thinks in rts games and my strategies fit the computers and i get my *** handed to me when i go up against humans. i also dont like playing computer games over the internet, all the lag and other annoyances are just too annoying for me. and as you of course know the computer separates the fighters all over the battle-space (the correct term instead of battlefield since like WWII) and they outrun the gunships. then add my ADD on top of that i just cant stand sending them at one ship at a time for 20 squadrons scattered all over the place and watch them get outran. that's why i've never bothered with them and relied on fighters, backed up by 20 admirals boosting their health so they can take a beating, keeping their numbers up so they can over run the lone squadrons. so yeah, fighters have been more convenient for me. especially because they have the hunt ability. i can just turn that on, turn around in my seat and watch tv while they do the cleanup work. now i've understood the power of gunships since i've gotten the game. in the original game i've seen 3-5 corillian corvettes overpower a star destroyer and eat through it like some starving orphans having a thanksgiving feast. and i've seen a handful of gunships sit in formation and watch tons of starfighter squadrons try and get through them all at once like they're playing a game of rover red rover, if i got the name of that game correct, and not one of them making it through.
but thanks for making me understand it. shooters and RPGs are my forte while strategy games are my weakness, though i enjoy playing them all the same as long as i win. i never been able to pick up strategies on my own for games. i've always had to have someone teach me in an apprenticeship. and this is the closest i've had to one for strategy games.
I always understand to people, even I have taken some tips about it. Perhaps I make that if you destroy capital ships, you win the battle without destroy fighters. It is the same that you see when enemy fighters have not hyperdrive. I think that nobody go to attack only with fighters and it will give a challenge more because you will need to protect your ships.
some mods have the auto win if you destroy the enemy ships even if some fighters have been spawned basicly it doesn't count spawned fighters as units. As such when all the other ships are destroyed you win the battle I've noticed this a couple times.
who needs startegy's when you can simply bull rush the enemy and eliminate their fighters before they have a chance to really spread out

I´m working on a upgrade and the full version, on both when you destroy the capital ships (supercapital/capital/frigate/corvette) from IA, you will win the battle. Human player will can to continue building fighter squadrons and sending them to the battle without a capital ship. On few words faster tactical battles. The Light Alliance upgrade will have a few changes on heroes and a few fix. The full version......well it will have the double of things. Have fun.
Hm........did i do something wrong? when i tried to play the Mod it would Crash and then my computer telling me that it stop working....
What O.S do you use? perhaps the smglauncher or the bat launcher Alliance2.3L does not run well with you and you need a manual install.
I just downloaded it and there's nothing to unzip; just a file to click on. I tried to install it but it crashes after I do the administrator bit. I'll try to re-download to see if that helps.
The use a easy exe installer, it should run you without problems.
Redownload worked and the overall game is really cool, however at the end of every space battle the game crashes. Has this happened to anyone?
Just upgraded to Windows 7, and the SMG launcher has an error each time i try to run it, is it not compatable with windows 7?
You should launch the mod with the Alliance23L.bat that you should find on the main forces of corruption game folder when you install the mod. It will launch the game + the mod.
I ran the .bat file, a small console would pop up but it didnt do anything else, any other thoughts?

And of course you need the last 1.1 Forces of Corruption patch.

Well if any forces of corruption does not launch with smglauncher or a bat, your unique option is a full mod installation. These are my instructions for it:
-Execute the mod autoinstaller, uncompress it on your forces of corruption folder, look well where you uncompress it.
-Go to the folder where mod was uncompress.
-Enter on the folder ..\mods\Alliance2,3L\
-Cut the Data folder on ..\mods\Alliance2,3L\
-Paste it on the forces of corruption main folder, overwrite all.
-Launch forces of corruption and it will load by default the mod.
-The unique problem from it is the uninstallation, you must unistall the full game and delete all manually on the game folder. But it should run at 100%.

This mod is my favorite mod of moddb and all mods i have ever senn it make somuch fun to play .
However i know this is a demo but, i hope the graphic design is better in future ,the shileds effect can look like from stargate empire atwar i mean for a few moths ther give it a mods with really realy good efects i think it was called fx mod ors o they have really goos textures and death clones
Sorry but my mods add their own effects and I do not go to add the type of effects from FX mod, they can looks fantastic but they overload the computer, they can be good for one very small mod like the FX mod but for my work they are bad, very very bad. And the most important, I do not go to copy them, specially without their permission.
About textures, look on images section, I´m sure that you will not find these models with better textures. ;)

Where do you uncompress it? you must select by yourself the game folder.
What do you use for launch it?

Do I need the patch 1.1 to play this? I have the Gold Pack and cannot patch my game to 1.1.
Nevermind, I answered my own question. Also, there was someone saying that the .bat file was popping up a console very quickly and then doing nothing. This means that the .bat file is not in the right folder. You have to move it out of the mods folder and into the main FOC folder, you said that Nomada but I think your wording of it made it sound confusing.

Nomada, I am consistently crashing when trying to bring in Prince Xizor's reinforcments in space at Fondor.
Download and install it. Firefoxccmods.com It is a patche for the Light Alliance 2.3.1.
What does this fix? I am also crashing consistently after like 5 min in any land skirmish

I think the Bloodstar medium cruiser on the Black Sun side needs to be strengthened a little bit. It tends to use only a fraction of it's hardpoints.
Perhaps but it uses movile turrets and these do not run well on game. It is not my fault, it is a game problem. But I do not go to edit it. When you play the full version, you will discover that it is equilibrated, specially when you see all the other Black Sun units.

You can't play the Campangne, because you have to send a soldier (I don't know how he's called in English) to Mandalore, but you can't, because the new position of Mandalore gives no way to go there!!!
Will it be fixed in the full version?
