Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms Total War is a Chinese mod based on the Medieval 2 Total War engine, the setting is at the end of the Tang Dynasty and beginning of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period. The game starts in 907, the era of Later Liang (led by Zhu Wen who usurped the Tang Dynasty) and Jin's (led by Li Keyong) struggle for control. This era features a period of political chaos and division in 10th-century Imperial China. The Jiedushi (military governors/generals of the now defunct Tang Dynasty) fought each other for control and five dynastic states quickly succeeded one another in the Central Plains. In addition, more than a dozen concurrent dynastic states were established elsewhere, mainly in South China, setting the stage for the epic of a heroic struggle. Note: This is a Chinese mod released to the public for free, ported over from the Chinese site Wanmod.
