The Bowcaster is the traditional weapon of the
Wookiees. It is the common misconception that the
Bowcaster fires energy rounds like a blaster,
however it actually fires a 'quarrel'
which is an advanced crossbow bolt. The quarrel is
rapped in an energy cocoon upon being launched
giving it the appearance of extended blaster
bolts. Thanks to the energy cocoons the quarrels
have incredible high stopping power. The bowcaster
can fire either normal or explosive tipped
quarrels making it even more deadly. Multiple
quarrels can be loaded into the chamber at once
giving the bowcaster a shotgun effect. The quarrel
is manually loaded onto the bowcaster and is
propelled by an extremely tight spring. Due to the
sheer power of the spring most humans are unable
to cock the bowcaster. Modern forms of the
bowcaster however have been updated with an
auto-cock system making this extremely powerful
weapon usable by the general public.
