Necroing but this is high up and will answer a lot of questions early.
How to install:
- extract the folder in the archive somewhere sensible (e.g. a games folder or similar)
How to play:
- run the .exe file within the extracted folder; doesn't require any further installation.
- This launches a lobby client where you can create or join a game.
- Create your "character"
- Create or join a game.
Can I switch between modes:
- Looks like skirmish is the only available game mode at the moment.

No, it seems to be skirmish/lobby type games at the moment - multiplayer and AI both work though.
it says access violation.how to figure out it?i tried compatibility and administrators config.plz i really want to try this mod with my friend.thx a lot
Crashes very often
The mod is great but extremely RAM-heavy. In late game (with many units) it eats up my 32GB for breakfast and freezes every couple of minutes.
I also miss an AI difficulty setting. Sometimes AI booms and spams castles like crazy, and sometimes it won't get out of Dark Age XD
And the mod said during installation that "H_23.png" file is missing and it caused the game to freeze upon loading. Replacing the missing file with any other icon file, just with the correct name, fixed it.
Intel i7, 32GB RAM, GTX 1660Ti, SSD - in case that matters

Loving it! Couldn't finish my first game cause it crashed (I assume cause I only got 16GB RAM)

Game crashed.
Our Champion is too strong and can kill ennemy units too easily.
After looking at the comments, maybe you should clarify the fact that it is not a "MOD" for AoE2DE like we normally use, but a project to create a 3D version of AoE2.
Still better pathfinding than AoE2DE, good job.
