This modification will add Finnish faction to Men of War Assault Squad 1 & 2 along with multiple campaigns for the Finnish side. The campaigns will be based on Winter war's last battles, Continuation war's "attack phase", advance along Kirov-railway in 1941 and 1942, defensive battles of 1944 and Lapland war. Each faction will be unique and player has to adapt his play-style to use advantages and disadvantages to defeat their enemies. German faction has most elite infantry formations, but they lack heavier tanks and heavy artillery. Russians are well armed, have heavy-armor support, have more infantry, but their infantry aren't as well trained and experienced as Finnish and German counterparts. Finnish faction will be "in-between" the Germans and USSR, having enough equipment for attacks & defending areas. Shortcomings of the Finnish faction is lack of mobility and the tank costs.

I believe they received the best equipment army had to offer along with Armored Division, as they were used as Corps reserve, being a unit which got send to most critical situations.

I was researching issued equipment of Finnish units in WW2 and I saw that units in cavalry brigade (like URR or HRR) had more LMG's than normal infantry brigades and they used M27 Carbines instead of M39 Rifle.

In 1941 there were divisional "Light Detachments" with squadron of cavarly combined with two Jäger Companies & Jäger machinegun company. They received better gear than any other unit in the Division, because they were used in scouting and other demanding tasks.

Modification's main focus is on battles during 1944. Then Finnish Army was in very different shape than in Winter- or early Continuation war. Normal infantry during Winter war had generally 6 Rifles, 1 SMG & 1 LMG per squad. In 1944 there were even squads with 3-4 SMG's.

I was not able to find 1944 organization of the Brigade so I cannot compare the amount of SMG's and LMG's with normal infantry, but when comparing 1941 organizations, the cavalry brigade had better equipment than normal units.

Description

Riding-Master [Cavarly rank for Captain] talking with two of his Dragoons.

Uudenmaan Rakuunarykmentti [URR] was part of Cavarly Brigade during World War II along with Häme Cavarly Regiment and two Jäger Battalions. During Continuation war the commander of URR was Lieutenant Colonel Hans von Essen, who received Mannerheim Cross when commanding the regiment.

General of Infantry Adolf Ehrnrooth also served in the regiment as Riding-Master before World War 2 started. His brother, Colonel Gustaf Ehrnrooth commanded Häme Cavarly Regiment during Continuation War.

The regiment was highly mobile, because horses were still used (but not in combat). During Summer 1944 they fought in battles of Vyborg Bay & Ilomantsi.
