There are two variants of FastDoom
FastDoom.wad and FastDoom_Vanilla.wad
With FastDoom.wad, weapons instantly fire on click and are weapons are slightly faster overall, weapon switch has been sped up significantly, player friction is reduced while player speed is also increased, and finally you can can move while in the air.
This specific WAD can be very fun on slaughter wads.
Alternatively for simpler maps (or just personal preference) there's FastDoom_Vanilla.wad
This does everything the above wad does, except the player movement speed and momentum are back to vanilla style. Air movement is still enabled though!
While these changes made gameplay a lot more fun, I felt this made things A LOT easier, so all non-hitscan enemies have the +fastmonsters flag enabled.
Now it's an FPS bullet hell! Good luck! I hope this spices up the game a little bit.
Should work for all ZDoom based sourceports.
Zandronum online play has some very different physics due to the netcode unable to handle the player velocity loop functions however. Zandronum singleplayer is fine.
But if FastDoom_Vanilla.wad is more your thing anyway, I'm happy to say it's 100% compatible since it doesn't mess with player velocity.
