Fallout Tactics Redux is a wide-ranging revision of the single player campaign for the game Fallout Tactics. My mod pervasively changes the game in numerous ways with a goal of making the game more fun. The mod was originally released in 2012, and is currently at version 1.3 (Nov 2015).

fun until supermutants... then completely unbalanced s**t... environmental armor is useless. most of the armor does not matter... most of the mission is save load till the rocket misses... otherwise, one shoot kill from the squad... muties can be killed only from range and they just stand until snipers kill them... after half an hour because they doing like 8 dmg per shoot... looked good from start but is horrible and I am playing tactics for more than 20 years... Is not like I know what I am doing...

RTS/RTT to TBT (ITB, STB, 'CTB') Analogy

Fallout Tactics Redux is what the Blitzkrieg Mod is to Company of Heroes. For this reviewer, it had the greatest feature of all: REALISTIC DAMAGE

Therefore the same total, paradigm-shifting, game-reviving-immortalizing satisfaction:
After trying Redux, you can't go back. This same phenomenon may be observed on players of COH.

In the past, running mindlessly towards a Super Mutant (supposedly standing guard) and standing right beside them to Shotgun burstfire him to death was often enough. Plenty of stimpacks anyway.

In unmodded COH, you too can send a squad straight into a blazing Machine Gun shooting you in the face; your troops crawling close enough to throw a grenade right in front of it, killing the crew, and suffering no casualties yourself. With BK mod, an MG42 ambush can eat 6 men in 2 seconds.

With this mod: you better use your head now. Positioning is key, and diverse squad roles complement each other beautifully.

You can send a sniper to draw fire and waste enemy action points for your sneaky shotgunner to blast them at close range. Only to find him killed with two pistol shots from a forgotten raider who laid prone the whole time.

This is not post-nuclear Diablo. It's much more sophisticated!

What can I say? I felt like this mod is mandatory for this game. This is a big content patch and bug fixes galore! I played through this game last year, about 3/4 way, then started it back up again to finish it tonight. I must say, this game is slept on. Anyway, this mod has it out for ya, and I didnt let it get a single squad member (had same squad throughtout,if 1 dies, return to last save). This mod has increased difficulty it seems, but thats simple to overcome with some patience. Mod is fantastic.

Only complaints would be being shot through walls or when a shot it supposed to hit you, you cant run away from it as you'll take damage regardless. But, thats probs an engine problem, not mod.

Play Tactics? Play it with Redux.

Fantastic mod, I would say the most complete, well balanced and entertaining way of playing the original game missions. I enjoyed playing it A LOT. Although in some moments I had to save/load and use medkits extensively, I did appreciate the challenge every step of the way. TB players will find it a bit easier. The addition of lore elements, for example in science terminals and holodisks, feels crucial in understanding some parts of the original game that were missing because of an overabundance of cut contents. My only critique would be about the new sprites that are often of poor quality.

This mod has two downsides. One: It uses low quality sprites imported from F1/F2, but this is solved by adding the Equilibrium-mod also available at moddb witch replaces all of the sprites and adds more guns, equipment etc. Two: The main menu music consists of really loud trupet-sounds, the same type the army uses to wake up an entire camp of soldiers. I cannot for the love of god understand the reasoning behind this. You should still try it out if your a original fallout fan.

Fallout tactics redux is a modification, which totally changes the original game to a real game of tactics.

First change the weapons so that they are more efficient with much more damage and optimization. On the other hand, in the original the player was given very few options with the weapons having to change at every moment, and also the damage, something that was a very big problem in the original, since the game became a real "run and shoot "for the simple reason of the damage of weapons, which I will talk about later.

Another thing that improves, is the combat, with an artificial intelligence much better than before, since the game in itself the artificial intelligence was only running, stooping, and shooting. in fallout tactic redux they improve it much better since they cover and flank the player making the game a greater challenge.

As for the tactical. Fallout tactics redux focuses a lot on that, unlike the original, fallout tactics redux should not go to suicide, since you will die in a few seconds, here it is best to go to the planning and know what is the best time to attack, making fallout tactics becomes a real tactical game, unlike the original that practically the tactics were useless, and it was better to enter in the middle of the enemies with a machine gun and kill a complete squad alone, without any tactics, this point for me it was the best thing that made me feel in a tactical game

As the weapons were balanced, totally making it possible for you to keep some weapons throughout the game, this is the most essential of this modification since the weapons of the original were very poorly balanced to the point that you had to change weapons due to the damage of these since you shot the enemies with more than 10 bursts just to kill one. This makes the game more enjoyable

And finally to change many things to make them better, such as random encounters every centimeter of the map, text improvements, environment among many things.

So I recommend installing this mod even if it is the first time you play fallout tactics, you will not regret it because it will make it much more entertaining and interesting.

Provides a substantial amount of improvements and additions to the core of FT. The amount of bugfixes alone make it the best way to play the game.
