Version 9.0 has been uploaded! It can be found at the Downloads page of this mod. It's still a WIP, so expect some issues.

What is... I didnĀ“t even...

...

Okay, back to the video.

Player needs Equals what?

Silenced Sniper rifle sounds like a miniature hydraulic piston.

Book trading seems good, and incredibly usefull early in game and possibly even later.

I thought you removed VATS?

Laser (Pistol) desintegrates an enemy 'AND' his weapon?

I still find it interesting that enemies have the knowledge of spotting you through 50 walls just because of the sound your boot makes on a concrete floor, while his comrades march like the devils next to them -.- see the irony in that?

Semi-realism: Still a-okelidokelistuff

Huh?

What do you mean "Player needs Equals what"? I don't quite get what you mean.

All silenced weapons use the default 10mm suppressed sound, I'm a modder, not an audio artist.

Glad to see it'll be a used feature.

Nah, it's back by popular demand. I may make a "hardcore" edition of V7 without VATS. There are always other mods that can remove it as well, such as this one: Fallout3nexus.com

No... the enemies disintegrated by laser weapons drop only their guns. Any armor and items on their person ARE destroyed with them.

Hey, not my fault, and frankly there is nothing I can do about it, as it's a source code issue. Fallout 3 was CLEARLY not designed with good AI in mind.

Glad to hear it.

What I meant is that you haven't quite explained what 'Player Needs' means, as in completely.

You just state that the vid doesn't show player needs

I figure it'll involve sleeping/eating/drinking... but what else?

Haven't you seen a news post about it? It pretty much gives you an option on your Player House Terminal to enable "Player Needs". There are five needs: nutrition, hydration, rest, urination, and excretion.

The longer you're out in the wasteland, the more your rest, hunger, and thirst needs grow, when you eat or drink to fulfill two of those needs, you develop the need to urinate or crap, depending on how much you eat. Sleeping no longer gives you an XP boost, and it barely heals you (maybe 30 HP, max). The whole system is almost done, but I need to work on it a bit more.

Are iron sights too difficult to do in FO3?
I ask because I have not seem anyone do them yet.
-Just curious.
Thanks for all your hard work and loving patience with this awesome game!

Um no, actually. They are quite simple, if you have some animation and modeling skills (I don't). Two people have pulled it off before, and I hope to have ironsights in V8 or V9. I'm trying to strike up a deal with them, but they don't want their work out there until it's perfect.

Thanks :)
I love modding, so it only makes sense that I keep modding.

Description

So, V7 is now in the "alpha' stage, I still want to add in a few more features, then test it a bit more (by myself). Then a closed beta will be released. There will be 20 beta-tester slots, sign-up will begin when I post a news article about it in a few days.

Anyhow, this video is just demonstrating several key features:

-The new weapons (and the implementation of them in the wasteland)

-The new food purification system

-The solid, semi-realistic combat that has been here since Reborn V1

-The new book trade-in terminal

-My mad Fallout 3 "skillz"

Yes, it's short, but on a good note, I FINALLY got the recording program to pick up sound properly. Please note, there are far more features then what this video displays, I also was playing without any realism-enhancing features enabled (such as player needs or weapon slots).

Expect a news post about the beta and V7's progress in a day or two.
