Before I release the full version of ECT I want to make sure the core features such as squad AI are battle-tested and refined. Setting up Hostage Rescue missions with 30-40 hardened terrorists may not be the most practical way to play but it does allow me to see how the squad members react in chaotic situations and refine it from there. It's not where I want it to be, but I have seen examples of how lethal and effective they can be; in the Nuclear Reactor video I noticed them staying in formation and mowing down their sectors while all hell breaks out around them. I also was able to test out the Night Vision Laser function for the team, which you can see later in that mission. With Night Vision and Green Lasers, the squad gets a major tactical advantage in the dark tunnel. On the Jungle map, the second hostage bolts from his cover and almost gets killed by enemies but the AI takes all threats down immediately. These videos also allow me to experiment with new enemy (and hostage) combinations so that I can integrate the template files into the mod.
I'll continue the series of short, fast-paced Hostage Rescue missions with a variety of tough enemies on more beautiful maps. The video quality has improved significantly as I discovered that the built-in Windows Gaming capturing tool can record my game at 1440p@60fps with no issue. I used GIMP to create a new logo and Adobe Premiere Pro to add them into the video.
