Dystopia is a is a total conversion of the Source Engine that places players into tense combat situations in a high-tech world spanned by computer networks. As Punks or Corporate Mercenaries, players will fight through the physical world to gain access, via Jack-in Points, to cyberspace. Cyberspace is a three dimensonal representation of the world's network. In cyberspace, players must fight off enemy hackers and launch programs to gain control of critical systems and to affect the physical world. Gameplay progresses through inter-linked physical and cyberspace objectives, and players must work together to achieve victory for their team. Players will be immersed in action-packed battles, whether as a heavily augmented combat mercenary armed to the teeth with the latest in firepower and cybernetic implants, or as a twitch-reflex cyberdecker racing to infiltrate a cyberspace node.

Like all HL2 modders, Team Dystopia is full of hope for an SDK update hanging in the air. To help spread this morale boost to the player base, this month's wrap up focuses on a Version 1 level created by TwinCannoN.

Undermine is set in a corporate mining facility, which the punks are attempting to shutdown the extraction process. More than previous Dystopia maps, players will need to work together in meatspace and cyberspace to come away with the victory.

As you can see from the first screenshot, Undermine's cyberspace environment has a level of detail above what was included in the demo levels. This is just the beginning of the overhaul that Version 1 will usher into Dystopia's unique cyberspace experience.

Undermine: Indoors

Are you a talented and eager 3d artist? Team Dystopia is looking to bring on new members to help us get Version 1 completed. We're specifically requiring a 3d modeler / texture artist to create weapon and prop models. If you're interested, please send examples of your previous work to dystopia@dystopia-game.com

The new cyber space kind of looks like Darwinia, at least the green part...any influences there? Anyways I love dystopia its a great mod, and the new map looks really nice so good luck and we're all hoping its going to be great.

Undermine, Broadcast and Detonate are the three most complete maps of those currently in development for the Version 1 release. All of the others are still being tweaked and changed based on the feedback we recieve from our heavy playtesting.
