Description

This patch fixes a variety of code issues that have come up since the release on August 24th. To install, replace the scripts folder with the one included in the patch.

i do think it would be cool, if this mod could work for Duke It Out In DC. i know not really anyone makes mods for the expansions. but still

It should already work fine with DC. All you have to do is add in the .art files (they are tiles014 and tiles015 so it won't conflict with AA tiles), add the maps, and add the DC episode to AAUSER.CON.

However, I'm not interested in making a special release with that done because I want to focus on our own content.

hm. interesting cause i remember on Duke 3D World Tour, that someone made the DC maps work for the port. and it was tiles23 that had the stuff needed, but that was for the new animations and npc's for some of the characters in the mod. but i do love this mod though. it's up there with the likes of Dukeplus & Nuclear Showdown. my other favorite Duke 3D mods

well. with a little help from a friend of mine. it seems there is a way to play Duke It Out In DC with the mod. i'm slowly but surely testing it out Twitter.com i'm at the Nuked Files level, and it seems to be doing good thus far

Just beat the addon and what an awesome ride it was!

Just a few things:

- When testing back on 1.0 version I had atomic health powerups spawning after destroying Pig Cops armored vehicles every single time, which makes things way too easy. It wasn't the case on 1.0.1 so I don't know if it's the RNG and if it's been patched for the new version but I'm reporting it just in case you want to do something about it.

- Not sure if I missed something here but at the last level of the new episode, if your partner is down after you enter either of the chambers to get the keycards and if you are too weak to revive them, you are stuck inside as you need both characters to play with the switch.

- Your partner will go for melee combat. It's nice to have someone to stun the enemy. It is however unpractical when it comes to the big ones. I obviously want to use the slot 8 weapon, the one that deals explosive damage but I often end up downing my partner in the process. I would suggest adding the ability to tell your partner to stand back or maybe have him doing so when equipping a weapon shooting explosives.

As for the rest, it's perfect. It's somewhere between what Gearbox did with 20th anniversary edition and a GT Interactive addon. I really loved it and can't wait for a sequel.

Thanks for your comments. The atomic health drops from the Pig SUV are indeed random. I guess it's ok as is, but I'm open to changing that at a later date. I don't think it matters much for this release, since you only encounter them once.

Good point about possibly getting stuck without your partner. I should make it so you always have the option to revive, even if both of you end up with 1 health.

There are also some general shortcomings with the partner AI. I will make them smarter, but it's not a high priority.

The patch doesn't work for me. Replaced all the script files with the ones in the patch and didn't work. Also just deleted the script file and replaced it with the script file in the patch and still doesn't work.

Don't know what I'm doing wrong at this point.

The changes do not take effect until you start a new game. Saved games are not updated with the new patch.

That's the only thing I can think of that might be going wrong. There is going to be a new version 1.02 with a whole bunch more fixes, very soon. That one will have a completely new download file, so you may want to wait a couple of days and use that if the patch is still not working.
