This is a single player first person shooter mod, based on Half-Life story. The combine will stand at enslaved Earth for one more year. Gordon Freeman is still just a legend. Citizens of urban reservations tell each other this legend in whisper. The resistance spreaded over every part of the occupied Earth. And for last fighters of this resistance that ware legend is a flag to which they swear. But for the time being it is just a legend... For more info - see the Description.
City-12 outlands, abandoned factories, railways...
Mapping - Vedroid
Nice details!
It looks quite nice : D
Maybe more subdivisions in your displacement services? I'm sure Source can handle it...
Of course it can.
But optimisation is more valuable.
Only real bug to fix - is texcoords on a road. Only way i know - is using UVW editor to align all faces, but hammer doesn't have it... Standard texture application is useless here.
very nice, yes very very nice!! ")
I agree about the displacements. They seem too blocky and jagged. Perhaps just smoothing it out a tad bit would do the trick. Try and stay away from using power 3 displacements, as they look bad most of the time. 2 is good for creating quick cliffs you want to detail, and 4 is great for making good landscaping. Just make sure you don't overdue it or you could run into problems.
As for optimization; if this is on the orange box engine, then they shouldn't have any issues with outdoor mapping since the orange box engine was built to handle that better. Plus, it's a single player mod, so there isn't nearly as much going on meaning they can take the visuals to a higher standard.
Anyway, keep up the good work. It reminds me of STALKER in a sense, but with more variation in the nature. It's just below the Rain Drop mod. All it needs is a little face lift and custom textures to be equel. :D
PS: You should look into using color correction. That would definitely improve the atmosphere.
Thanks for advices! I really appreciate this :)
