Latest patch for the Divergences of Darkness mod for Victoria 2, focusing on Hungary. See the description for a detailed changelog.
- Major content expansion for Hungary
- Remade localisation and gfx for the Crown of St Stephen event chain
- Added events that fire at the start of the game to represent the autonomy of several factions within Hungary: the nobility of Royal Hungary, the Szekelys and Saxons from Transylvania
- Once these events fire, a set of decisions become available to centralise Hungary and modernise the state, having to deal and negotiate with each of the traditionally privileged groups in turn
- Decision and events to develop the Great Hungarian Plain, choosing between agricultura, mining or mixed focus
- After Croatia is conquered, an event will fire prompting the player to choose between two paths: Magyarisation or Integration. Both paths come with their own set of decisions to either assimilate or integrate the various nations that live within Hungary
- If the Saxons are forced to assimilate, but violence wasn't used against the Szekelys, an event can fire setting off a conflict with a neighbouring German power over the protection of Saxon culture
- If the Saxons were forced to assimilate and the Szekelys were violently repressed, an event will fire starting a rebellion in Transylvania
- The player can choose to play as Transylvania during the revolt. Transylvania can integrate Romanians during the war or, should it win it before the event fires, by decision once peace is secured. Either way, integrating Romanians as Transylvania allows you to form Transcarpathia: a Hungarian-Romanian union state.
- After Nationalism and Imperialism is researched, another event will fire in which the player can choose the embrace Turanism, an ideological current pushing for agressive expansion in the Balkans
- Embracing Turanism opens up the possilbity of coring the Serbian lands. If Southern Serbia is conquered, a further decision opens up to negotiate with Albania for the cession of the port of Vlorë
- Italian-culture Great Powers that hold Dalmatia also have a chance to start their own event chain regarding Vlorë. In these events, you can start to economically colonise and invest in Albania as a way to gain more and more influence on the Albanian government. Should diplomacy fail, you also have the option to take Vlorë by force
- If Hungary embraces Turanism and chooses the Magyarisation path, a decision becomes available if Romania also exists and holds its major cities. In this decision, an Ultimatum can be handed out which, if refused, allows for a custom dismantlement of Romania, with various options for the partition of the former Romanian lands.
- Macedonia no longer gets more infamy than intended in the Greek expansion path
- Decreased tech requirements to annex the Shamkhalate as the Shaki Khanate
- Reworked the way Islamic Law is applied to Muslim countries as well as secularisation
- Removed post-Napoleonic borders from Germany, adding 9 new German tags to the starting map
- Fixed "Instigate Occitan Revolt" not spawning properly Occitania
- The event "Military Intelligence Spreads" now gives 5 instead of 20 war exhaustion
- Changed Vizagapatnam and Ahmedabad to dye RGOs
- Post colonial nations now spawn as westernised countries
- Tweaked AI tech research priorities
- General cleanup of country history files and unused modifiers
- Slightly reduced Scandinavian pops in Scotland
- Fixed Wakhan belonging to two states simultaneously
- Miscellaneous localisation fixes
- Removed national assimilation events, to be replaced in the future by a more elegant system
- Removed Kurdish cores in Bitlis and Hakkari
- The Kurdish decision to reign in the KKA can no longer be taken repeatedly
- Abolishing the Mosallamiyat as the Timurtash Empire no longer removes modifiers it shouldn't
- Iranshahr is no longer a pan-nationalist tag
very good mod thanks wait for turkish update
Glad you enjoy it! The Ottomans will likely get an update to add content to the Janissary path at a later date
Really nice! I really hope Germany comes next, i'll enjoy this mod 'til the next dev diary
Next up is Mexico, although I do have plans for Germany. Namely, reworking the way the formation of the HRE works. I wanted to do it for the Hungary patch, but the scope of the content kept increasing so in the end I just changed the starting political map for Germany.
With Germany would there be any colonial or further expansion because ounce you form Germany the flavor ends and that can also goes with Italy where you form your nation and have little flavor afterwards
This patch did add some flavour to Italy with the event chain related to the straits of Otranto that you can get if you are a GP and control Dalmatia.
I plan on doing more in the future for both Germany and Italy, although I'm not considering doing colonial flavour.
dude nothing changed when i start a new game as hungary, its almost like the game never updated. Deleted the old version and put the new version in and none of the changes to Hungary like you described were there. Please help.
Most of the content is only available after you take the crown of St Stefen from Bohemia.
If you already did that and got none of the new events/decisions, I'm not sure what to suggest. Make sure you are installing to the right directory and deleting any previous versions of the mod, although it seems you are already doing that.
ah i gotcha, see i don't know how to gta heist yet

There's definitely a problem with one of the decisions: the decision tab has a lot of broken things like "relation_title" and "OR_title". This indicates one of the decisions wasn't coded properly.
If there was such a bug I would not even have released the patch. This sounds like an installation issue.

Great update(as a Hungarian this is excellent) but i'm not sure if the integration works as intended. I choosed the Magyarization path and barely any culture changed(I played until the end). Like it would have been better to accept the minorities at that point since there was no noticable assimilation at all.Tho it might be vic2 limitation
