Team Raptor would like to present a mod that has been in the works for a little while, Dino-Instinct, now a Half-Life 2 mod in production, was once going to be a mod for Half-Life "Classic". After going through an alpha and many members later Dino-Instinct moved on and decided to clean the slate and work anew with the Half-Life 2 engine. Dino-Instinct is a multiplayer HL2 mod where dinosaurs will fight to the death. (We may add game modes with humans at a later date) Players will be able to gain experience and level up to acquire new abilities...
Tweaking the main menu.
That map in the background is just something I (a programmer) thew together in Hammer to try out the displacement tool. It has absolutely nothing to do with what our mapper is working on.
Nice :D
Just so you guys know, the crappy map in the background has nothing to do with the mod. I'm a programmer, not a level designer, and was just playing around with Hammer's displacement tool for fun.
Ox is the guy who actually knows what he's doing, and this screenshot has nothing to do with him, I assure you. This screenshot is here to show-off the main menu, which isn't really much of an achievement; however, the 3 year old picture that was here had been bugging the crap out of me for a long time, and I had to replace it with something.
then why screenshot it...

"the 3 year old picture that was here had been bugging the crap out of me for a long time, and I had to replace it with something."
The old screenshot was 3 low-poly models (which no longer exist) in a level which no longer exists. The screenshot was taken years ago (before various people left, taking their code/models/levels/animations/etc with them) in an alpha version, so the quality was low to begin with. I felt it was a misleading representation of the mod in its current state and to be honest, was below our current quality requirements.
If you're interested in seeing old screenshots that no longer have any relevance to the mod, you can find some in this folder: Dinoinstinct.com numbered shot1-shot6. As you can see from those pictures, the quality of the models/textures/etc was very low.
Don't worry, the mod will look MUCH better than that, because like I said: those are REALLY old screenshots.

PS: if you want to see the screenshot that used to be here, it's called "carnes.jpg" in that folder I linked to above...
