Designed as a love letter to retro games, 80s/90s anime, and early heavy metal, DemonSteele is a complete and total gameplay overhaul for GZDoom/Zandronum that dramatically changes the flow of the game to an extremely fast-paced hack-and-slash brawler. Wield a razor-sharp sword alongside a mighty gun, and make mincemeat of your foes before blasting away his buddies. Effortlessly dodge through return fire and lop off heads one by one. Or just simply cleave through a crowd in one single dash and swipe. Gameplay rewards thinking fast and acting faster, with enhanced movement systems (Dodges! Rocket jumping!) and your overall effectiveness based entirely on how many enemies you can plow through in a row with minimal damage to yourself. Kill fast and hard, and you'll be rewarded with a slew of special moves and a bunch of damage...hang from a distance and timidly plink at them bit by bit until they die, and you'll be ill-suited for the challenges ahead.

Hello, everybody! I'm not 100% familiar with ModDB, but I'm happy to be with you. This is a new year, so I hope to do a whole ton of new and interesting things with DemonSteele and hope you all enjoy the results.
There's still a whole ton of things left to be done with DemonSteele--I'll try to keep everybody updated as to what's left, what's the current focus, how things are going to come along, and what the current workflow is.
Let's all have fun and make 2015 the greatest year of demon slaying yet!

Speaking of which, I suppose the big question at the moment is "What are you going to do next?". At the moment as v0.74 settles, bug reports keep swarming in, and there's a whole ton I need to do to take care of them all. Things like inconsistent player sprites, enemies dying multiple times in a row, being able to telefrag the Blind Guardian and Sentinel, all of these are especially high priority to me and I'm really hoping to be able to address them all in v0.75.
That doesn't mean it's going to be a fix-exclusive release, though! I've already had numerous other people come to assist me in regards to coding, and already we have some interesting new options for people to play with (the ability to derive souls from gun attacks, the ability to use a typical health system, etc)--likewise, there's some very commonly-requested features that I'm taking a long and hard look at to try and figure out how to implement (such as being able to use special attacks with guns as well).

...But that's just speculation. The road to development is always wonky and unpredictable, of course. Still, we'll see how things go.

Happy...late new year, soo terminus you are going to keep DoomDB updated about your mods (especifically Demonsteele)?
