Finally a new update on the status of this mod. And a teaser trailer too.

Posted by on

Hi all, It has been quite a while, but I made it. I managed to update another time! The voice actors did a good job, and my efforts on coding and texturing are giving the right results. Unfortunately, due to the lack of time and help on the coding side, I had to remove some cool features, but dont worry, everything's fine and the mod is healthy as always. I just rethought about what exactly DR was, and I decided to make it more short, but much better graphically speaking, and enjoyable from the gameplay side. Original half life 2 textures and models that have been used in the mod now have new normals, much more detailed, and nice phong effects.

As a little gift today I bring you a small teaser trailer. Enjoy!

Its like you tried on some parts and on other parts you didn't. Don't take it the wrong way; its just some areas in the video looked solid, and really cool where others lacked. What was with the red texture seen in the beginning and end? The mapper(s) did a good job, from what I can tell the mapping quality looks better then most mod's out there but there wasn't enough seen to fully support that claim. I'm going to watch this and see how you guys progress, and will fully support your mod...trust me its already something I would play. Oh also was there supposed to be sound, I got none.

I thank you for your appreciation. well the beginning and end are parts of a dream scene, so it doesnt have to be detailed or realistic, is just a dream of the protagonist's garden (that "red texture" are lots of flowers).
It has been done that way on purpose. As for the rest of the maps, I agree, those need a bit more work (some of them are still WIP) but all levels fit perfectly for now, and hopefully wont disappoint russian people. And yes, there's sound, dont know why you dont hear it though...

the voiceover was annoying.

and your maps need some better lighting bro, pump up the brightness to like 800 and give the sun a higher angle.

Honestly, the teaser was subpar. The best parts were some of the decently done maps and the voiceover (which I didn't find annoying). The dialog too was nicely done.

The only downside is the inconsistent map design and lack of real direction.

i suggest doing as less voiceovers as possible if you don't have anyone with an american/british accent

I think the different accent makes it more interesting.

Good voice acting although a tad overacted in parts, I thought :)
