Brilliant work Sir! The only thing I noticed are the cliff textures to the right that are not properly aligned fix that then it's perfect. Same for the left side near the sign.

Eventually add one or two bushes or cactus as well to make the polishing perfect.

Ha yeah I was wondering if anyone would notice that. about those textures, they are aligned in hammer. I'ts just when I compile this map in particular, the textures don't line up on some of the cliff faces. Had the same problem before on other complex pieces on another map, and eventually it fixed itself. Also to answer your other points the map isn't quite complete yet (hence the "WIP" on the picture) but yes i'll be adding random cactus, shrubs and rocks etc around the map, that stuff I save for the polishing stages generally. Thanks for your feedback :)

p.s. Just to show you what I mean, I'm not 100% sure how it fixed it self last time.

Hm I know that issue I could never fix it myself.. I suspect it's because the brushes themselves are not properly built and results in VIS having problems during compile.

There are these hint brushes etc. where you can determine where vis makes certain cuts but I truly never saw any difference as to before without hint brushes.

But if this is only for some sort of cut scene it shouldn't matter anyway. What you could try is to make a back up and try doing the cliffs again perhaps you get lucky if not keep it as it is.

In general: It's best not to make the brushes to huge and when building cliffs always stay at a straight 90 degree line. Don't cut brushes vertical and you will avoid stuff like that. It's also possible that the sky brush is responsible for that.

Normally you must align the sky brush to each cliff brush individually but seriously who does that? Most people myself included just make a simple sky box.

Wow! Perfectly done mate! One of the most detailed and real-to-life mapping I've seen, congrats! The buildings up the cliff and the power station are really making this area look out. This map also reminds me of a map I made for 23-down's mod, Firestorm, a long, long time ago :P .

Also, about the cliffs texture problems, it happens to me too. No idea what causes it or how to fix it. Maybe 23-down's solutions will work. Bad compiles (aka with errors) are sometimes the culprit.

Keep it up!
