Diasporex Race
as Dark Eldar replacement

The Diasproex was a nomadic civilisation of humans and aliens who lived aboard a vast collection of starships, maintaining a network of hydrogen collector space stations around various stars to fuel their vessels' power generators. They had been prowling the depths of space since the Age of Strife and their lifestyle may have evolved as a reaction to the horrors of that time on many human-settled worlds. During the last days of the Great Crusade in the early 31st Millennium, the Iron Hands Legion encountered the fleets of the Diasporex.

Now new fleet comes to 41 millenium. New powerful fleet with high level of technologies. They are not Chaos, they are not Imperium! They are Diasporex! Completely new force in Soulstorm game!

It's an original idea alright, but it has several problems:
First, most people don't like a vanilla race replaced, as it actually removes content and gameplay rather than adding it.
According to the Lexicanum article on the Diasporex ( Wh40k.lexicanum.com ):
- They're extinct
- They were a *minor* faction.
- They were fleet-based, and no information on (if any) ground-based combat is given.
- The last words of their captain were "We only wished to be left alone". I don't really imagine such a faction jumping into the fray Space Marines style.
That and of course they would have to be made entirely from placeholder models, at least you can somehow pull out new assets out of nowhere.
Not trying to be a negative Nancy here, just stating some facts :S

I understand that this is a whatif scenario founded in canon. Just assume that they were not completely defeated and that they grew in power. Universe is big.

Not sure how well developed are this as a faction according to codex so that I fear that there is too much freedom in design but a mixed race of humans and aliens is something tempting to work in.

I assume that they share the AI of DE so they are some kind of raiders.

*Seeing someone else share at least elements of my headcanon fills me with DETERMINATION.
This is actually something to look out for considering the Diasporex’s nomadic nature. My headcanon (give credit) is that following their defeat in M31 the survivors fled into the Immaterium under Gellar technology, where they continued their culture and perfected their technologies, where they long to someday live in the material universe again as they face against Warp threats, etc.
I’m actually scared GW might botch them as a grimdark evil faction if, or when, they make the above canon.
