The Crysis Enhanced mod aims to provide the best experience for fans of the first Crysis. It primarily focuses on graphical updates and is powered by the partly revamped CryEngine 2 engine.

Here are some informations about the new Crysis Enhanced update incoming.

It is time to give some news.

First of all, the release of the new update has been delayed. Why ?

Because i am currently in the process of soft rebooting the mod. The goal is to stay true to OG art direction and post processing, especially OG TOD's .

The natural and "photorealistic" look of Crysis 1 was a bit lost in the previous versions due to bad changes about TOD's and lighting, and heavy usage of Reshade in order to correct it. It is going to be fixed, and you will get back this natural look, in addition of every others visual improvements the mod has to offer.

In order to achieve that, i am in the process of remaking a huge number of materials while still improving the levels. The wait will be worth it, i promise, and it will bring a huge step forward compared to the 2021 update in every single metric you can imagine on the visual side.
SirLancevrot (click to check his YouTube channel), a veteran Cryengine 2 modder, is working with me on the project and is taking care of improving vanilla shaders and creating new ones.

I am sharing with you some pictures and videos. Check all the pictures and videos in the images and videos tab.
Thanks for reading, and again, the wait will be absolutely worth it.

If you desire to support the project , here is the Patreon page :
Everyone that chooses to give his support ( even a one day support ) with the Gold Tier will be rewarded with an in-game credit on some papers or newspaper decals ( Here is a first example )

Not to be negative or anything, but being quite honest, I think the previous look of the mod is excellent and I prefer it over both the vanilla game and the remaster as well as this new reboot version of the mod judging by the preview screenshots. Perhaps you should consider providing this as an alternative "natural" version of the mod rather than a replacement. But good luck with it either way.

Hello there. No problem. I will share more pictures in the near future. I just can say " trust the process " here :). It is really a step ahead compared to the previous version of the mod. And still, you'll be able to make your own reshade preset for example if you desire to finetune the IQ to your taste, no worry.

Games like Crysis and Stalker pretty much NAILED the photorealistic lighting/environment look from the get-go and nearly every modding attempt at improving those visuals tends to only downgrade them. Other than improving the textures, vegetation render distance and maybe a few other subtle things, there's really not that much that one could hope to improve before the end result looks like generic modern asset flip #9000.

So, I'm glad that you decided to rework the mod with the aim to keep the vanilla aesthetics untouched.

Hi. So first of all it’s great to see you guys still being active in developing this mod. I’ve played through the game a few times now with this enabled, and it’s still awesome every time. However, I’m wondering if you could provide an update on your progress for the ‘reboot’? I’m debating if I want to play through the game again right now with the current version, or wait for the new and improved mod in maybe a few weeks time.

Hello there.
If you can wait months, i suggest you to wait for the new update. It's not ready yet unfortunately. Or you can play it now and then replay it in some months with the new update.
