Crossfire is the best looking Freelancer mod. Hard to believe that this game was released seven years ago.

a great mod which adds a lot of awesome content. Though the NPC enemies are made much more difficult now, it is infuriating to kill any of them as they spam shield batteries and nanobots as well as spamming flares, making it so you can only effectively kill them with high energy weapons. This is made much more difficult when there are multiples enemies.

Fantastic Mod

One from reasons I joined Crossfire two years ago was interesting story and huge universe to explore. I'm older player and good story was always something what attract my attention. I read articles about CF history and I was sad that I cannot try play mod from his first steps to last. With Crossfire 1.9 I had found what I always wanted, possibility to follow interesting and very well composed stories (crossfire chapters) right in game. New missions for SP now allow all Freelancer players to play many new missions and learn how Crossfire story evolved and was one from main participants on Crossfire Universe history.

This all come with very nice advanced graphics, very high and deadly NPCs AI where you can be stunned how good can they cooperate (goal is your destruction of course :D ) and HUGE, really huge Universe where you can spent many hours fighting trading and exploring. You have for your disposal big amount of ships and not only fighters, but also more different capital ships (from Gunboats to Battleships) and also ship for fun as is for example Luxury Linner.

Standalone chapter is Crossfire Multiplayer where you can have big fun and found new friends, participate in big battles or create your own stories. Crossfire Multiplayer version 1.9 is big step forward and technical possibilities for fun are multiplied when compared with 1.82.

This mod is definitely worth to try .... (beware, is highly addicting :D )

Love the UI color shift. Would like to see a few more additional starting ships in NY for a change of pace, but I truly am blown away at the newer graphics.

Top Mod, Recommended Dload, Do It Now!!!

If you like Space Sims, fancy flying some of the finest upgradable ships? then look no further, Crossfire 2.0 is for You!!
Great community, 100% roleplay, missions aplenty.
One of the Best Mod conversions from Freelancer I have ever played, if not the best, ever, period !!
Uprated graphics, planets redesigned, ships balanced.
The attention to detail is high, ship explosions are just awesome.
Just play it!!

if you are a freelancer player, you should simply play crossfire. not only it advances the story where it left off, but also provides a great mp experience, which you should not miss.

however, plan to lose a great deal of time in crossfire mp politics and forum contributions, because it has a life of its own, even out of the game.

for any space sim fanatic, crossfire in a must!

I love the tune up to the area and especially to Trent himself. But i find that with the increase in difficulty, space battles in SP take a very long time. This i can deal with as it makes the battles themselves more interesting and unpredictable.

However i find myself getting annoyed during the first mission that character Beta 4 is destroyed before i've managed to kill 1 enemy. This happens over and over most tries lasting under a minute resulting in me quitting the game. If players are forced to play on a difficulty they would not set themselves, the allied AI or at least equipment which allies use should be adapted to coupe with the extra strain of being blasted by a harder foe. Personally I haven't been killed yet on SP and I could handle being killed as that allows me to try new tactics against the enemy. But when I get mission failed due to a failure of the AI which no adaption to my tactics can solve.

I also find the lack of a pause button annoying due as it means that i cannot stop for anything during a battle as it could result in my characters death.

This is why I am only scoring this a 5/10. I can see that many other people disagree with me and I feel that this could be a mod that I would really enjoy. Before reaching the stone wall that is Beta 4 i was enjoying it. I was even looking forward to flying the new ships. But until this issue is solved I will not be playing Crossfire 1.9 again. I may download 2.0 to see what alterations have taken place. And I hope that this review is taken into consideration.

I thought that Freelancer is dead. But this mod proves once again the opposite! Everybody who likes the Freelancer Universe: PLAY THIS MOD!

SUPER DUPER COOL AWESOME MOD!
