What is Crossfire: Alliances™?

Crossfire: Alliances is a new Character Driven FPS game. By daring to push the limits of storytelling and to find new ways to tell the story we wish to reach a new place in FPS thruough a new style of storytelling. We will try to capture the players imagination and allow them to feel as if they are truly experiencing everything for the first time, first hand. We plan to do this by including a Personality Driven AI system, Realistically Stylized Visuals and a fun easy to use gameplay system. with all of the things we plan to do this game is set to be a unique and challenging project, perfect for anyone willing to learn something new and pickup some experience along the way.

What is done?

Currently we have a basic Design doc and a bit of concept art completed. The basic story is also Finished but subject to constant revisions. We are actualy about 5% done (but 0% sounds wrong so I put 10%). We are also building a proper PHP and mySQL backend to our site. We havn't started to create game models becuase we believe we can't do this right untill we have the game engine, but at this time we are in the process of building media models (extreamly high poly for media and normals mapping creation). In the time till the Half-life² game is released we want to have a full team, and to educate our selves in the new technoligies being used in this engine as to have a one up on what we can and cannot do.
We'd love to include people into our community who are interested in learning about this stuff, but are not qualified or able to join our team.

Well here is a progress shot. I've begun work on some weapon models for the game. This is a Pump/semi auto shotgun similar to the spas12, Its a not on purpose that I named it the MUS12 (being with the 12).

The MUS12 Multi Use Shotgun was developed by UCO as a Versitile weapon for feild operations where Dynamic Situations exsist. The Shotgun can be used as a Crowd Supression tool when equipped with Tear Gas Shots (a long and narrow tear gas spray that detonates at a set distance from the shooter), or Pellet Bags. Room entrance, with the SLP (Sabot Low Penatration) Shot, or normal slugs. And Normal Short distance wide angle situations when useing Pellet shot or Slugs.

The Tactical Folding stock was designed to maintain a small sized weapon, allowing it to easily fit an operators Equipment webbing. The MUS12 is easily equipped for most operators and is often carried even if not needed, as a precuationary Measure. The Stock easily and quickly folds out, but also allows the operator to fire and aim even with the stock folded up. This use is not recommended by the PWRD (Practical Weapons Research Devision).

I'd Also like to Thank Kalashnikov for applying as a Writer. He now has the position and I will be sending him his NDA as soon as possible. It's nice to have a writer on staff to help out. Our other positions are still open and were always looking for any applications.

Sounds like a project to jump on in with, even though Half-Life 2 hasn't been released, I hear there is a chance that the SDK could be released within the next two months!
