Coma.

The history of Humanity 2024 - 2099

In the year 2024 machines determine whether a coma victim will wake from the unconscious state they are left in, and exactly how long it will take for them to wake. Whilst Victims are in this state it was decided that a memory reboot and reprogram was to be used. It couldn't be done as a simple ‘download' into the victim's memory but could only be done by being hooked to a computer that ran a ‘virtual training program', [V.T.P] for short. This program would teach them the basics of life they needed for when they woke. It also preserved them completely, preventing aging problems including Instantageiatosis (instant ageing after preservation).

2025, America declares The Korean Establishment (formally North Korea) a global threat, after it was believed The Establishment, overran South Korea, Japan and most of China. All diplomatic ties between America and The Establishment where immediately severed.

Late in 2026, America joins forces with Great Britain, most of South America, half of Europe and Australia. Due to Australia's strategic position it was set up as a huge military outpost. All Australian citizens where forced to evacuate to America.

In 2030, The Korean Establishment declared war on America causing World War III. This war resulted in most countries being forced to place all control and resources into the hands of the military. It was also this year that they set up the Military Established Coma Patient Online Simulation Training (MecPost); a computerised program that wiped the minds of coma victims and trained them to become human super weapons.

By 2038 it was believed that all of MecPost's subjects had suffered from a stress related cardiac arrest and were reported deceased. The project was then buried by the government.

By 2050 World War III had ended, the Earth resembling an apocalyptic wasteland. Whole cities were reduced to rubble. War had torn thorough the population, decreasing it from 10 Billion to a mere (Estimated) 200 thousand. Law and Order became obsolete; people killed their fellow men out of hunger and desperation. The world had plunged into chaos.

It is estimated that at about 2057, a group of surviving leaders formed a committee seeking a way to control what remained of the human race. It was said that this committee were merely puppets to a greater power, but no other information on this subject has been found to date.

Over the next 3 years the committee built their status the as saviours of humanity. People worshiped them as they brought a sense of hope to a devastated world. They rebuilt cities and offered shelter and food. They had in reality created a new religion. This religion was similar to Christianity and worshiped a, supposed, ‘Messenger Of God'. Only the higher leaders of this religion (The Committee) where able to speak to the messenger and they relayed its message to the people who worshiped it. Most of the population followed these commandments, whether they truly believed the supremacy of ‘The Messenger' or just wanted the safety that it brought them. Codelism was born.

Codelism expanded over the next 20 years. They established the Citadel de Dues, the capital of all Codelic Power. It was built to show a sense of control, but this wasn't enough. A rebel group known as the Anti-Coders used violence to try and overthrow the leaders of Codelism. This group believed that the ‘Messenger of God' was a lie and just a way of ruling the people. They attempted many attacks on the Citadel, over 2000 citizens were killed. This caused extreme fear and confusion. Many of the Citadels citizens threatened to leave unless the violence could be stoped. The Codelic leaders needed a way of stopping the violence, a way of defeating all doubt in their beliefs...

A top secret project codenamed ‘Project Choke-Chain' was established by a Codelic research group (Evolving Sciences) in 2084. It was designed to restrict the one thing that makes us human; Freedom of Thought. It consisted of a Computer Processing Unit implanted and hooked to the human brain. The ‘Choke-Chain' Effect was then enabled punishing the mind with strong electrical pulses if it wasn't to comply with the regulations of the unit. Factories where set up for Project Choke-Chains human processing, and HT3 droids (HunT3rs) were commissioned by the leaders to imprison people in these factories. The HT3 droids used Heart beat sensors to hunt down the people. The project was the final way to get what the leaders always wanted; A totally restricted and disciplined army of slaves completely at their command.

Over the next 5 years 190 thousand were taken in by force to the processing factories. The first batch of the projects enslaved had a glitch in the CPU where they almost stoped thinking and became primitive turning them into savage mutants. The subjects were unable to be used in any beneficial way and were set free into the wasteland.

It was estimated that 6 thousand escaped from factory 22a in 2086 after a malfunction in the detention department's cell system. These people were hunted by droids for years and all were presumed to all be dead by 2091.

In addition a small group of Anti-Coders were never found by the droids. It is rumoured they are still to this day alive and preparing for an attack against Codelism.

It was then and there, that humanity as we know it died forever...

...Or did it.

Dr. Carlos L. Jeffrey, Born 27th of June 1999 in Mineral Point, Wisconsin, America had only just graduated from medical college when, on the 5th of May 2023, was hit by a truck and knocked unconscious...

76 years later he woke up. The only knowledge of his life was what was written on a file, on the wall. Below it was a note, hand written, with directions pleading for help. He was alone and scared, with no knowledge of where he was or that he, himself, was

Humanity's only hope...

Music was... Brilliant!
SO SUSPENSFUL IT MADE IT DIFFICUT TO BREATHE! Well actually that's probably just those reversed sounds that screw with my head by still absolutely fantastic work. I think I was expecting drums or strings to jump in at some point and purely because they didn't it became really... I dunno... Mind-screwy? It just didn't sit well with me, but in this case that is totally a good thing.
