Reborn on the RNA engine, the RA2 and YR story will be relived with real time 3d graphics. We of the ConRed team are aiming to recreate the gameplay of Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge on the Red Alert 3 engine, with a new Yuri Campaign. Later on, we will be working on a mod that is an expansion to this one; Condition Red: Rise to Power. The setting of the mod will take place after the events of YR, with Yuri in the psyonic prison. This allows us the create a whole new story continuation, with a lot of new content.
A fascinating piece of Soviet technology, the Iron Curtain allows you to make units and structures invulnerable for a short period of time. When ready and selected, the Iron Curtain will make all structures and units in a small area completely invulnerable to attack. Invulnerable units cannot be attacked by Terror Drones, but can still be mind-controlled. The force of the Iron Curtain will kill any infantry units it is used on. In this way, it can be used against enemy infantry as a weapon. When the Iron Curtain is built, all players are notified and the shroud above the device is removed for all players.

chrono those invincible tanks into water!
You can not use the chronosphere on tanks protected by iron curtain.
But anyways...
The allies will see your tanks massing up(usualy Apocalyplse tanks)to use the Iron Curtain on them, and will:
1) Chrono them before you use the Iron Curtain
2) Send a quick AirStrike (Harriers)
Thats why the Iron Curtain is best used to kill those pesky elite inantry...lamo
Shouldn't the ball have a trippy red/black swirly texture? Or is that only when it's ready to go off?
They can't show animations in a render. So it will be animated.
that will be fx as well as the red glow. The ball is supposed to be glossy and shiny but that is handled by the spec map. In other words this render is inaccurate. It's purpose is to show you our progress.

note: In this render the copper things supporting the ball are very bright so they look a little weird.

Not sure if it will happen with FX's ingame, but from what I remember it pulsed a bit between black and dark red when not ready, and pulsed between bright red and red when almost ready/charged.
tou mean pink and red because bright red is pink :)

I'm curious as to how the effect of the Iron Curtain will look as in Red Alert 2 it was a completely black shroud but in Red Alert 3 it is Red and Black.
