The .zip-file comes with two versions:
- A version for any non Source Port System Shock Release (Enhanced Edition (Pre-Source Port), Classic Edition, CD-ROM, Floppydisk, System Shock: Portable, Etc)
- A version for Sourceport (Enhanced Edition (Source Port))

1. Locate archive.dat in the Data folder whitin your System Shock installation folder (..\res\data\).

2. Make a backup of the file (copy it and put it somewhere else).

3. Replace archive.dat in your System Shock folder with the one(s) found in one of the following folders:

* Clean and Fixed Citadel
* Clean Citadel
* Fixed Citadel - Textures and Environment
* Fixed Citadel - Textures Only
* Bright Citadel
* Dark Citadel
* Citadel Expanded - Smaller
* Citadel Expanded - Larger

4. Start the game

or

1. Make a copy of your entire System Shock folder.

2. Paste the folder somewhere else.

3. Put archive.dat in the Data folder (..\res\data\).

4. Start the game

- For System Shock: Portable installation, put archive.dat in the res folder (...\SSP\res) instead.

This version can be played with:
- Enhanced Edition (Source Port)

1. Open a Windows-Explorer window and go to this location (copying and pasting it into the location bar is an easy way to find it):

or (if the above doesn't work then try putting it here (in the game's data folders, at the install location)):

.../SS1EE/res/missions/

2. Drag and drop the following folders from the downloaded mod folder to the missions folder:

* Clean and Fixed Citadel
* Clean Citadel
* Fixed Citadel - Textures and Environment
* Fixed Citadel - Textures Only
* Bright Citadel
* Dark Citadel
* Citadel Expanded - Smaller
* Citadel Expanded - Larger

3. Start the game and activate the Mission under Modifications of the title screen.

Q: In Citadel Expanded why are the new areas lacking in some objects/items/enemies?

A: Because the game has a limited number of different types of Objects per level and there were only so many to work with.
