Planet: Earth
Well, hello there everyone! Glad y'all had a good trip. My name is Cecil Bryke. I'm the top game warden down here in DinoHunt Corp. Earth Division. Never heard of it? Well, I don't blame ya. We don't get too much recognition down here.
Once interstellar travel became possible, folks jumped at the opportunity to take to the stars & visit alien planets. Lot of people live off world in the colonies spread across the galaxy now.
And... of course, hunting big game Earth animals really lost a lot of its popularity by the end of the 20th century.
But in the years since space-travel became common place for the average person, Earth has seen some big changes.
Once dwindling animal populations have recovered nicely, thanks to professional conservation efforts, genetic manipulation, & long breaks in official hunting seasons--with most of the hunting efforts being redirected off-world now.
Of course, you'd think with people leaving the planet this often, there'd be more room for the excess animals. But that wasn't the case. Management down here in didn't quite know what they were doing, and the animals of Earth were facing brand new problems. However, because of their commendable conservation efforts on their dinosaur planet, DinoHunt Corp. was called in to set up an Earth division & oversee all official hunting programs back here on the home world.
Now I've been working with this division for decades, and now I'm gonna give ya a tour around....
"""RADIO STATIC"""
Hold on a second folks, let me take this call.
"Cecil looks at the radio"
Ah, its Lex Mortensen. She's our weapons expert.
Hello Lex--woah woah slow down, what's the problem?
Uh-huh... Hmmm... Wait...Oh my goodness! Lookout folks!
"Everyone ducks out of the way as a large piece of metal crashes into the ground near them. Everyone looks up to see a large spaceship crash-landing into the area nearby."
Is everyone alright? OK good. Unfortunately, there's a change of schedule.
That was DINOCORP 8, a transport ship. Apparently, it was carrying animals from the Arctic sector of FMMUV-32. Something must've gone wrong and now the animals have gotten out of containment and are invading the area.
To make matters worse, DINOCORP 8 wasn't the only ship to go down. Four other ships have gone down in four other locations on Earth.
Originally, my plan for this trip was to show y'all around and show off a little bit of what we do around here.
My task originally was to tranquilize select animals from certain herds to check the health levels of the nearby animals and make sure diseases aren't spreading. But diseases are the least of our concerns right now. We have to deal with a worldwide invasive species crisis!
"Later that day"
Alright y'all I just talked with the higher ups, and they've filled me in with how we are going to deal with this problem.
They said that they will providing free radar equipment that can locate any of the Arctic sector's beasts, even if they aren't exactly what we're after. Unfortunately, this comes with the cost of not being provided extra ammunition, so we'll have to purchase that ourselves.
They also provided me with the approximate crash locations & funnily enough, they're all in the hunting areas I was planning to take you to.
Oh, and one last thing they mentioned was that we'll have to use our own tour's weaponry. Now this is not good because our weapons were built in mind of taking down Earth animals, & the FMMUV-32 Arctic sector creatures are much tougher. When I asked why they couldn't provide us with proper weapons from the dinosaur planet, they said that by the time those weapons get to us, the invasion would be too widespread to resolve quickly.
For motivation, they have doubled the values of those beasts whether they are dead or alive. That should help get us some good money to afford better weaponry.
Well, enough said. Y'all ready to go hunting?
