This is my customized version of Tomtefar1988's "ADSmode" brutalv21.pk3 file with new bug fixes and addons. I wanted to blend mechanics from Dox778's standalone mod, as well as keeping some of the original vanilla BDV21 flavor to it. First and foremost, let me clarify what is different about this brutalv21.pk3 file, compared to Sgt. Mark's original. Tomtefar1988 added a console option in this file, allowing you to select between "Toggle" or "Hold" for your weapons ADS mode. (ADS = aim down sights) Simply put, you can choose how you want the weapons ADS to behave when you use secondary fire:
Press secondary fire to enter ADS. Press it again to leave ADS.
Press and hold secondary fire to enter ADS. Release secondary fire to leave ADS.
Change the new variable "bd_adsmode" in the console to change modes:
bd_adsmode = 0 for toggle
bd_adsmode = 1 for hold
All files located in this package can be run together or you can pick and choose whatever files you want to use! I will try to fix this so you can see both the Screen Fx and Meatshields options).

Changelog:
- Removed Purist & Tactical modes from the main menu.
- Removed the "Weapons Testing Map" option in the Brutal Doom Options menu. (To access, while playing the game, open console and type “Changemap Test”).
- Fixed the Assault Rifle’s offset, so it aligns with whatever crosshair you choose.
- Fixed every weapons Pitch, Zoomfactor, Angle and Thrust.
- Removed the Ultimate Doom Visor's "XL Bracket" when you Aim Down Sights. Take note: A few of the Visor options do not work, such as "Show Weapon List" & "Show Reserve Ammo Display". The "Use Generic Weapon Script" On/Off option does not work as well.
- The "CheckDeathScript" addon runs with the UDV and it makes your helmet overlay disappear every time you die. The UDV overlay no longer goes back and forth between staying on and going off upon death.
- Fixed the "Camera script failed to initialize" message appearing when you get blown up in a room or a space with a low ceiling.
- Fixed the Assault Shotgun's "raising/firing" animation.
- Fixed the Minigun & Plasma Rifle’s scratchy selection sound audio.
- Fixed the Vehicle movement. You no longer have to bind the Move Forward, Move Backward, Strafe Left and Strafe Right option in the Action Menu.
- Fixed the "Alt-fire"/firing lag with the Minigun. You no longer have to wait for the barrel to fully spin to be able to start shooting. You can click alt-fire and then immediately start firing.
- Fixed the crouch-slide mechanic to automatically re-center your view after you're done sliding.
- Fixed Dox's Desert Eagle spawner sprite. It was displaying the shotgun and then changing back to the Deagle when you tried to summon it in the console. (If you want to dual wield, you must first find/summon berserk and then type in the console "summon deaglespawner" for it to work).
- Fixed the Desert Eagle's “Press Once” toggle mode as well. Since I only use the "Press Once" toggle option for all my weapons, I fixed this addon to work only in "Press Once" toggle mode to match all my weapons, since the original would only aim down sights in the "Hold" mode for some reason. So, if you change the "Toggle" mode in the console to "Hold", the Deagle will still stay in "Toggle" mode.
- Fixed Dox's Revolver spawner sprite. It was displaying the shotgun and then changing back to the Revolver when you tried to summon it in the console. (If you want to dual wield, you must type in the console "summon revolverspawner" for it to work).
- Fixed the SMG’s A.D.S animation showing the Assault Rifle.
- Fixed a bug with the Railgun that caused the game to freeze when it runs out of ammo.
I’m sure I will fix more stuff in the future but for now I am happy with everything the way it is. If you want to know what settings I use to get the game running as smooth as possible, don’t hesitate to ask! 🙂
Sounds great. For sure usefull for many people. I use my own Quick ADS only scripts since BD21-RC2(a), but cool when people can choose what they like. Something which should be in BD21 long ago. (this was actually a planned feature and RC1 even had a cvar for this which didn't do anything)
Yeah, I’m gonna try to add a few more little features to this one. It’s just gonna take some time. I just wanted to blend some newer things to this while still keeping the core of the game. Some of the fixes are pretty trivial but when you notice them, they **** you off, lol, therefore I wanted them gone.
is it normal not to have zoom in ads?
Yes I removed the zoomfactor on all the weapons except the Railgun and Rocket Launcher, since they have electronic scopes. Having them all zoom in with iron sights wasn’t realistic at all.
