The definitive gameplay enhancement mod for the GZDoom and Zandronum engines. Adds realistic gore, dismemberments, headshots, executions, lightning effects, particles, makes enemies smarter and harder, makes gun louder and beefier, and adds epic new boss battles.
Based on WildWeasels edit of Mike12's visor HUD. I felt the HUD matched the theme of Doom. Made changes to add Brutal Doom v21 features and give cleaner view.
Removed secret, item and kill counters.
Reduced near bottom for better view of weapons
Reduced clutter near top and center
Moved mugshot to lower left
Added overlay on mugshot for effect
Moved keys to lower right
Added secondary armor and health bars to show values between 100-200.
Added ammo in magazine counter
Added grenade counter
Added ammo counter backdrop to make melee weapons look less awkward
Slight changes to fonts.
Realized that BD21 came with a "full helmet" option that was essentially the mod I started with. Updated the code so that the mod replaces that helmet and integrated seamlessly into the options.
To use, go to Brutal Doom Options > Player options > HUD Style to Full Helmet and HUD size to classic.
Trimmed and repositioned the demon morph mugshots to fit in the mugshot frame.
Added third fill layer for health and armor that is red (for 200-300). This looks nice with demons, as health goes red when you morph.
