From Brutal Doom Dox, I've ported in a modified version of the Brutal Doom Dox minigun, complete with its nailgun mode.
Modified to match the more fast pace of classic Brutal Doom, as well as blowing holes in enemies instead of nailing them to the wall, this nailgun is still the beast of a weapon it was in Dox.
UPDATE!!
NOW HAS AN ADDON THAT GIVES YOU A 50% CHANCE OF PINNING ZOMBIEMEN, SERGEANTS, IMPS, AND LOST SOULS TO THE WALL INSTEAD OF RIPPING THEIR BODIES APART.
Load DoxsMiniNailGunFX+.pk3 after DoxsMiniNailGun.pk3 for this to work.
While slightly slower, the select animation of the minigun (and its nailgun mode, respectively) is merely one frame longer than the vanilla BD minigun, so no need to worry about overly long and elaborate animations.
Differences Between Dox's version and this ported version:
Sped up the weapon switch animation, so you can more quickly switch to the other mode for situations either requiring a lot of pain stunning, or more damage efficiency per bullet.
Alternate, more balanced version is now included! DoxsMiniNailgun2.pk3
Changes with this version:
-
- Each nail takes two bullets, and the damage has been adjusted accordingly. The alternate fire damage has been adjusted as well. This is so that the nailgun is still a powerful weapon but should be used a bit more wisely
- The nailgun cannot be unlocked immediately; the player has to pick up the nailgun upgrade module in order to be able to switch to the nailgun mode. it looks small but you will see a sprite of the nail cartridge and the nailgun barrels part. Should have a chance of replacing the Brutal Doom minigun just like the machine gun can.
great. Thanks a lot!
epic
Hello please bring back the feature of this weapon - nailing monsters to the wall - mega brutal! Without this feature, there is no visual difference between the nail gun and any other machine guns!
that would require an additional changing of the enemies themselves, and that is something I would expressly try to avoid. Sorry, man, if there was a way to add it on without replacing the enemies or changing the zombies in some way, shape, or form, I'd take it immediately. Any suggestions? Because I'm trying to cater to more modding and addon compatibility.
On second thought, I'll make an addon to this so that you can do this.
Alright, it's done. I've added the nailing feature. It will happen less often than in Dox's Brutal Doom, but you'll get about a 1/4 chance it'll happen..i think. I set it to do it at 1/2 times, but it doesn't seem to do it more than half the time.
Cool man. Also, can you fix the green blooded enemies do bleed much less than red blooded enemies from this weapon?
I got no idea what you mean by that.
only work with dox addon?
No, only with vanilla BD
HyperExia can i talk with you in discord?
ohhh **** I'm so sorry, sure! i haven't checked Moddb in weeks
Great job! Animation, sounds, appearance. Thanks for the edit!
Most of it came from Dox.But it was a pain to make it work with vanilla BD
Thanks for this, Dox's stuff is awesome. How can I quickly test this, is a spawn command available? Like I've been playing with it for a while now and I've yet to see it dropped. Moreover once it is dropped and I switch to the chaingun, how do I attach it?
Use the 'Dual wield' mode
whats the changelog? Pretty sure I downloaded the last version way before the 09. 03.22 and It already had the pinning feature. (says updated Mar 9th, 2022)
Works perfect, do you think you could port the plasma rifle from platinum as well?
Duude that thing rips, the wall nailing sprite is really really impressive. Awesome add-on 10/10
What is your discors?
G-Chan(Ghan/Brian)#8275
With other active mods, this one doesn't nail them on the wall, right? :(
doesnt work brutal doom 21.. give me error
Say, is there a chance you could also make a triple-barrel module for the minigun; and at the same time, have both the nail gun and the triple-barrel co-exists with each other.
I don't think there's a triple module, sorry.
The mod works for me but i've never seen it being spawn, only using console commands.
Finished like four megawads and nothing, i'm also using the quad shotgun module so maybe that's why? because that one seems to work fine.
