This mod brings lots of improvements on gameplay, visual and sound design, visual effects, and massive changes of all game aspects in general over the original Brutal Doom. It also adds new unique stuffs and shows the vision of the game by team Blackmore1014, Iddqd_Idkfa_Idclip, Doomsmile, Bifurcator, Vsonnier.
"Brutal Doom: Black Edition" is a dark, serious, realistic and meaningful vision of the original Brutal Doom.
The mod follows the serious, evil and creepy atmosphere of original Doom franchise: "Black Edition" combines large battles and speed of classic Doom with a meaningful realism, the dark and atmospheric aesthetic of Doom 3 and the dynamics of modern stuffs found in Doom 2016.
The mod also focuses on diversity of game, but take care of preserving the original style and atmosphere of the original Doom I/II.
"Black Edition" offers plenty of skill levels and gameplay modifications (see FATUM menu below skill levels) that would fit cowards and heroes alike. On higher difficulties though, it turns to a not forgiving hardcore mod where the Doomguy is always on the verge of succumbing which should be a challenge for the most skilled players.
If you are either bothered by regular Brutal Doom, or want both modern and conservative vision of the game with new unique stuffs, experience it with "Brutal Doom: Black Edition".

-- Please don't forget about some stuff in game options --
1) ESC - Vivisection - Customize Keyboard. Here bind button for "Burst Fire", "Flashlight" and "Combat melee attack (Quick Punch)".
2) ESC - Vivisection - Display Options - Dynamic Light Options - Light Shadowmaps - ON. This setting required for shadows from flashlight.
3) ESC - Descent into Hell - Before new game - Below Skill Levels - Additional Game Modes: Fatum - Open this section - Here you can enable unique game modes.
Recommended to enable option "ESC - Vivisection - Display Options - Hardware Rendering Options - Sector Light Mode - Dark". It's important for atmosphere and suspense in mod.
Also if you want to play with Doom 3 experience: "ESC - Black Tractate - Black Edition Options - Sector Light Options". Here you can configure value of darkness in the game.

Saved the last old version Brutal Doom v20b: Black Edition in separate folder. If you want play on Zandronum, old GZDoom, or phone with Doom touch - you can use this old version.
== How install ==
1) Download mod.
2) Download latest GZDoom version - Zdoom.org
3) Download or buy four Doom wads (doom.wad, doomu.wad, doom2.wad, tnt.wad, plutonia.wad).
4) Create new folder.
5) Put mod file "BDBE_v3.2c.pk3" in folder.
6) Unzip all files GZDoom in folder.
7) Put four Doom wads in folder.
8) Select mod file "BDBE_v3.2c.pk3" and move over "gzdoom.exe".
8b) You can create shortcut for fast launch and load mod and addons after gzdoom.exe.

Now you can create new or copy any other shortcut. Open shortcut properties:

In "Target" you must specify the path to folder. After gzdoom.exe you must add necessary megawad, mod and addons.

Judging by what is says, I think you loaded it with Brutal Doom, which you're not supposed to do, so don't load it with Brutal Doom

If you using other addons with changes parameters of monsters, weapons, ammo, artefacts - you wil have error. This addon developed for using with only default brutal doom.
Have ideas with additional sound effect for some items. Radiation Suit, Invulnerability, Invisibility.

Hello, sir. I hope you will not take this personally, but I would like to address my concerns about the sound effects. First of all, the rifle firing sound seems to be silenced, with only the "ding" sound of the bullet is heard. Second, the sound effect of the chaingun firing, same problem with the rifle firing, but without the "ding" sound. Also, I don't mean to be an ***, but why did you disable the "Go *insert f word* yourself" insult?
Oh, before I forget, can you replace the health bonus sprite? Because I kinda mistaken it for the stimpack.
Don't understand. You not hear fire sounds of rifle and minigun? Impossible. Maybe you have some other addon and he delete sounds.
About health bonus. I hate medieval items in sci-fi Doom. It's stupid. Because I made that bonus health. And bonus health have blue color and same glow.
Why I deleted all offends, taunts and other stupid words? Because it's not "Serious Sam". It's Doom. He is dark, serious and evil. And Doomguy must always silent - it's law of Doom from 1993.

Honestly, I only use "UDV Brutal HUD" as my addon, no sound effects replacement whatsoever. Also, I would like to clarify that the firing sounds of the rifle and chaingun are not literally "muted," but rather they sound rather "soft," even when set to maximum volume in the source port.
About the Doomguy's insults, one-liners, and whatnot? I understand. Actually, I don't really use the one-liners that much because of the same reason with that of yours. I only use the "GO F--- YOURSELF" one because instead of yelling/raging at my computer, I would instead use it whenever I feel so annoyed with the enemies, especially the Lost Soul and the Pinky. But hey, to each is own.
Lastly, about the health bonus sprite, I agree with your point that the sprites look too medieval. I was only suggesting to replace the current sprite because it looks like a stimpack. Perhaps you can remove the red cross on the sprite, it's up to you.
Hm, soft fire sound of rifle and minigun? Strange. Maybe it's equalizer in system? Just in my small notebook I have dat something with sounds - explosive and loud sounds - not so good hearing like in home PC.
Just I not have something problem with fire sound. Don't know how help. I hope soond made trailer for Black Edition and you see all fine.

I have played your sub-mod moments ago. I want to say that I applaud you for trying to make the mod as realistic as you can ever do. The balance of the weapons is fine (which is your intention to make the game more realistic), although the maximum ammo inventory is a a bit much (like 700 ammo for rifle and minigun). Also, my other concern is that the minigun becomes slightly overpowered since you removed the recoil effect, and so the accuracy increases, which is contrary to your goal to make the gameplay realistic.
I have no problems about the Doomguy's voice, but only the grunt when he jumps. No offence, but I think his jump sound is a bit awkward. Other than that, good job on removing the unwarranted "Hmmm..HAHA!" laugh, the oneliners, and other stuff (although I still miss the "Go F- Yourself" qoute).
My other concern about the sound effects is that the footsteps sound cheesy (I have to agree with the other commenter that it sounds like the Doomguy's "tap-dancing"), the reloading sound of the SSG seems soft/inaudible... same goes with the shotgun firing sound.
Don't be discouraged about the low ratings. You did a good job though. I hope you will not take the things I said as a personal attack or an insult. I just wanna help you with your sub-mod.

I love play with minigun and added 100 additional ammo, because default 600 not enough i think... Maybe minigun overpowered. But I remember how can't use default Sergeant's minigun at even medium range. I want fun and pleasure with minigun. Because I made like in Painkiller - perfect gun. Also I must noticed Super Shotgun buff. All in discription why I made it. And I forget about realism for some weapons, because I think Doom it's not that game where need made so much realism.
Doomguy grunt when jumps? I'm confused... When he jumps you hear short "Uf" or large "Phuuuf".
Again footsteps... Don't understand. You mean clang sound effect of ammunition? I not hear tap-dancing. One step - one sound.
I just see that my vision of game was very ambiguous. Although my addons separately have very good rating and comments. But in one big complete addon - no. Now, I not see any reason to do something.
