Based on the Marc Laidlaw short story--Epistle 3--Boreal Alyph aims to capture Valveās lost vision, and bring a fun, and satisfying end to the celebrated Half-Life series. Epistle 3 is a synopsis of Half-Life 2: Episode 3, written by ex-Valve writer, Marc Laidlaw. Since its publication in the the 25th of August, 2017, Half-Life fans at Keep Away From Fire have been working hard to bring Epistle 3 to life in the source engine.
I love this redesign. Better than black mesa's one.
Black Mesa's isn't perfect, but it's not supposed to be a new version. It's supposed to rebuild HL1 in Source engine, however I do agree that it's not good that it's eyes are on top rather than at their sides.
This drawing is madly well detailed and the design is freaky as hell, but personally it doesn't really look like a bullsquid to me. More like a pit drone with those long legs and elevated body.
Still, kudos to the artist.
The design looks amazing.
Love the more complex tail design, dislike the head design (general shape, bumps on the forehead and around, typically-monstrous pointy teeth), would go for bigger-proportioned, more stable feet. Would think more of how it could be adapted to cold climate.
Kinda reminds me of this "demonic" concept
