This was posted a couple years ago but I'd go for a moodier tone for this part of the game, I know it would be breaking from the original but I'd remove or severely tone down the lighting and have a singular blue light above the body to not only center the players attention on the guard but to bring in a sense of sadness and despair which is what blue lighting usually represents to really bring that feeling of depression to the player for stumbling upon someone whom Barney may have known or been friends with. Imagine walking into this room and seeing this dark blue light shining down upon this now deceased guard, not only that but the harsh and angry red against the depressing blue would really stand out. Just my ten cents worth from the future.
You could make something BMS team did with areas like that, by replacing that dark abyss down there with actual sewers, so that these chasms make sense :D
