Shouldn't those cables be circular?
Usually (valve too). Create the cables in that way.
But its 2014 man, such as the great Urby once said 'its not 1998 any more, technology is a hell of a lot better now'. Although at least your mapping skills have increased since the first biohazard.

This isn't 1998 I know that, but the 1999-2005 mods of half-life were the best.
