I don't think you properly understand the symbolism behind mordor architecture as well as it's origins... You have quite detailed guidance in appendices - of the books as well as the movies
I agree with the comments, mordor architecture is very peculiar, iron and black rocks or iron towers
I suggest you watch more movies dark elves or carefully
I know a lot about mordor architecture. And you should know, that orcs must build outpost very fast. They haven't time to make stone\metal tower or something like that. They have only wood, metal(not a lot) and ropes. So i think this building is really looks like mordor outpost.
I think it looks pretty awesome, keep up the good work!
I understand your point but the forces of Mordor, working with stone and iron I tell you I have long years studying the architecture of the buildings of Middle Earth.
And I know why I say.
I understand your point but, as you say, is a matter of design, it is your mod and you better do what you like.
In Mordor and surroundings, there are many strengths, and are not made of wood. That is much common sense, and military, if so, mordor no serious military power as described in the books. Gondor or another faction you would easily invade Mordor,
Important cases as serious, Carach Angren, or Mordor Road, it would work, construction and logistics giant
About architecture of Mordor . Barad-dur and other large fortress, of course, were built of heavy stones and metal, but all other were rebuilt by orcs or hastily built of wood, as well as a bit of metal and stone.
I understand your point but, as you say, is a matter of design, it is your mod and you better do what you like.
Maybe for isengard if you could use as they are military fast
iron and black rocks or iron towers is half peter's invention.
at least the look.
In any case, the symbolism behind mordor architecture is industrialization that's why it is painted by tolkien as greedy and moody type. to give us a feel of something that takes over.
Build outposts fast. That's nonsense i must say. Mordor doesn't build. It takes. Just like with the "large fortresses", they took the old numenor building and shape them to desired will.
The only type who you can say "build" are the isengard orcs. and there are reasons for that.
I suggest search more in books, not only lotr appendixes but expand the search upon the simmalirion.
Tolkien crafted the story so carefully that every detail have certain feel to it. The models don't need to be "lore" since more of the existent design is based on peter's efforts. With are quite excellent.
You don't need to replicate them if you don't want to. But you have to - yes, if you try to achieve a considerable amount of presence of the books, again, you have to replicate the feel behind the architecture.
off topic:
Dennisl
I do not understand a word you say. Please, consider to drop the use of google translator if one were used.
I'll just say: A single arrow with fire, and the mordor outpost, it becomes a giant torch
It is only logical military sense.......
And I'm not going to discuss a foolish topic
And I suggest you learn your English better, your syntax is very bad in al your comments...
And back to the discussion, I do like it only I think it could be more evil but that's my personal opinion, keep up the good work!
And Dennisl what do you mean with "I suggest you watch more movies dark elves or carefully"?
I actually agree with this style as opposed to a metallic structure. If you look at, for example, the buildings in Shadow of Mordor (Based heavily on the movies) They are all made of wood and look like they were built practically overnight, with scraps of wood and tarps and so forth.
buildings in the Shadow of Mordor ??????
You comment is based on that .......... ???? I will not discuss
¿(Based heavily on the movies)?
Shadow of Mordor wasnt a bad game at all... Atleast it isn't like war in the north or whatever it was called... And yes the Architecture was based heavily on the movies sooo yeah. As if in War you'd had a ton of free time to Quarry stones and build Forts with them. Righto...
I'll correct: The gameplay was good, great even. The usage of lore however was abysmal.
In turn, the designs were at least nice to look at, as the graphical concepts were made by the Weta Workshop itself (if I remember correctly). So while "The Shadow of Mordor" was certainly a fun experience by itself, as soon as you try to set it in a serious relationship with the true middle earth, you get full-blown errors in the tolkien matrix ;-)
First, I was fine all about that game, I have it and play it but take it as reference, jajajajajajajaja. that tells me much.
It is a game for fun, and it's already very childish, even as I said earlier design depends on many things like Mordor think, is the mordor you have in your mind. and that will not change.
So, that's dumb, discuss the theme, if you tell me that,
I love the concept art. =D
However, I was thinking, this concept could go with the attack outpost (the command contraption on top), so that the Mordor forward base of attack is more like what you are thinking - built up by orcs. =D It adds a bit more to the detail. =D
